Don`t know for certain but do NBS use Barclays for their faster payments?
This could explain the delays and variations in money transfer times also Friday is probably busier with the weekend coming up.

Yes. I paid 2 separate £1 into the account Wednesday and Thursday and they showed up quickly. Paid a few hundred in 11am today using account number but 5.5 hours later not showing in the account. If its automatic the number of people depositing should not have an effect of delaying deposits

Don't think so, if it is, I fluked a 5 figure sum into it well after 2pm showing in NBS c 3.30pm. Tried another  £20k  few mins ago, at 16.25. 
CS on phone (exceeded daily app limit) at FD says it'll get there this afternoon 'subject to checks'.

Me too too - my payments almost doubled between when I applied for the mortgage and when I completed on the property. Think it was at its height of 15% by then. Quite a shock to the budget and definitely a struggle for a while. It was a new build and hard enough to buy the required carpets and curtains -  and that was in the days of few coffees out and meals only on special occasions and certainly no expensive tech! Someone quoted the other day that housing cost is now over 28% of monthly budget, I think it was nearer 78% in those days, well, it felt like it. (Omg turning into a grumpy old person)

RE: NBS - I sent £1 yesterday which showed up this morning, I sent rest of my funds this afternoon exactly an hour ago and it shows up already when I just checked now. 

Not sure why there's delays for people, seems random. Maybe some banks are not sending out with proper description with your acc reference or something and requires manual check.

It is weird about First Direct.  Their mobile app limit is £30k for the day, but their online limit (via their webpage) seems to be per transaction rather than per day - I'm sure this wasn't previously the case.
