Two letters just received from Newcastle - both totally useless TBH. One is thank you for opening account with acc details and the other is time to fund it.  No mention of authentication code to enable withdrawals. It just says when you first log in to carefully check the details of your chosen nominated bank before you transfer funds, Which obviously isn't possible yet.
So don't get excited when you get yours :)

CovBs limited access (four) saver is going up to 4.30aer from July 7th. I'm not sure if it's been covered yet. I usually get an email but had a look on their website this morning to see.
There are two different four access savers
See this link (mid way down page 2):
    https://www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/content/dam/cbs/member/pdfs/savings/rate-change-notice-savings.pdf

The Four Access Saver (Online) is going from 4.00% AER to 4.50% AER.
The Four Access Saver is going from 3.60% AER to 4.30% AER.

Pretty sure this is now NLA but otherwise would be topping the tables after the rate rise on 7th July, although there's still a week for others to overtake.

I signed up for a Newcastle Building Society account on Wednesday and immediately supplied a digital copy of my driving licence, as well as submitted a £1 payment same day but I've not gotten my account setup yet. Anyone had it take this long?
Not possible to prove identity digital form, you have to post copies

What are the chances of Chip increasing their rate to beat Newcastle BS in the near future? Trying to figure out whether to bother opening and transferring money out of Chip to Newcastle BS?

I have left a good portion of mine in Chip, for now, as would have no access to it yet if I was to shift it to Newcastle BS, in absence of authenticated nominated bank account for withdrawals.

I had issues with making deposits into my NBS account.
The initial deposit went fine, but once the account was properly active and I had received everything I needed through the post, my deposits kept being bounced back.
After several emails and even taking to someone over the phone, it still didn't work so I closed the account.
Did you use the account number rather than the application reference number after the first deposit?

It says in the initial email "Your unique reference number quoted above, which should only be used for initial payment to Newcastle Building Society"
I'm still waiting for my activation letter but did a transfer using my account number, and it bounced, so don't think you can until fully activated

I have made 3 deposits to NBS, one yesterday on the day I opened the account and two today, I used the application reference number in all 3 and all have been processed, and the money is in my account.

Min £500. Application form + multiple forms of ID need to be sent in post or brought to their Mayfair branch. Might take 3 weeks to open. Can then be managed online or via app.

I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.

Hmmm, luck of the draw. I did one yesterday with my new reference number and it worked, so did another this morning and nothing showing 😔 I feel like just leaving it all in chip, at least it's no hassle, unlike this.
