My authenticate notice is showing now when I login.
Just waiting for the code by post.
I would rather wait a few days for the extra security it provides and having an account linked to a nominated account is also good security.
Why would you want to draw it out as soon as you put it in anyway.1 -
I opened and deposited into a Newcastle Base Rate Tracker savings account on Wednesday 28th June.BooJewels said:I think (from previous posts) that NBS uses the same system as Ford Money and I opened an account with them very recently. They generate a letter that comes in the post that contains a long code you enter when logged in, to authenticate your linked bank account - presumably this is because it verifies the address. I got the 'authenticate your account' flash a little while after I'd signed up and made a deposit - I thought it perhaps appeared at the point where the system generated said letter.
Once I had the letter (it came the first day it possibly could), I authenticated the account with the code and within a few minutes got either an email or text to tell me that my account had been authenticated and I could now make withdrawals.
When should I expect my autentification code to arrive in the post?0 -

Depends on your postman.

I had issues with making deposits into my NBS account.
The initial deposit went fine, but once the account was properly active and I had received everything I needed through the post, my deposits kept being bounced back.
After several emails and even taking to someone over the phone, it still didn't work so I closed the account.SPC 0370 -
Did you use the account number rather than the application reference number after the first deposit?madlyn said:I had issues with making deposits into my NBS account.

It says in the initial email "Your unique reference number quoted above, which should only be used for initial payment to Newcastle Building Society"0 -
I don't but I wish to add more money after my first test deposit and before I did wanted to know how easy the withdrawal process would be and how it worked.2010 said:My authenticate notice is showing now when I login.
