    Do you not have the huge "Authenticate your nominated bank account" message? Like cymruchris said, you need the code in the post before you can withdraw to your nominated account.
    For me, that message only appeared a day after the account was opened. So yes I'll just wait for the post to bring me my code, but it's far from obvious that this is going to be the process when you initially sign up...
    2 letters from Newcastle BS for me this morning. And 2 for Mrs Arty (joint account) All of them are 'welcome' type letters and none of them have the verification code I need. 

    Poor old rainforests...

    Don't open an account with Hampshire Trust Bank in that case. They send me a letter through the post for EVERY transaction, deposit or withdrawal!

    I opened, like everyone else here it seems, a 4.3% Newcastle account - but now see it's been removed from  Moneysavingexpert's Top Savings page even though it's still the top pick (or should be)?
