Do tandem process transfers out on weekends or just Monday to Friday?
I find it's pretty much within 20mins whenever you need it

I had issues with making deposits into my NBS account.
The initial deposit went fine, but once the account was properly active and I had received everything I needed through the post, my deposits kept being bounced back.
After several emails and even taking to someone over the phone, it still didn't work so I closed the account.
Did you use the account number rather than the application reference number after the first deposit?

It says in the initial email "Your unique reference number quoted above, which should only be used for initial payment to Newcastle Building Society"
I'm still waiting for my activation letter but did a transfer using my account number, and it bounced, so don't think you can until fully activated

My authenticate notice is showing now when I login.
Just waiting for the code by post.

I would rather wait a few days for the extra security it provides and having an account linked to a nominated account is also good security.
Why would you want to draw it out as soon as you put it in anyway.
I don't but I wish to add more money after my first test deposit and before I did wanted to know how easy the withdrawal process would be and how it worked.
When everything`s up and running, if you make a withdrawal request by 4pm on a working day the money will be in your nominated by close of business next working day.

You should get an ID code by email today which will let you into your account and then you can see your full account number to make deposits.

I opened the NBS account yesterday. I got two emails, the first a welcome, the second my ID. I then sent over a small amount from my bank. Today it as appeared in my NBS account, along with the verify message.

I now will wait for my code, and then verify my account. To be honest, it seems to have gone fine, in my case.

Two letters just received from Newcastle - both totally useless TBH. One is thank you for opening account with acc details and the other is time to fund it.  No mention of authentication code to enable withdrawals. It just says when you first log in to carefully check the details of your chosen nominated bank before you transfer funds, Which obviously isn't possible yet.
So don't get excited when you get yours :)
