These 3% will be handy for any that have already funded Coventry, but also have some funds in Santander, Atom, Chase, Shawbrook, Marcus, Ford, or even Zopa not in a boosted pot, - in other words the long list of accounts that once in a while jump to the top and get pages of posts here with people making efforts to sign up - only to then see the account fall behind after just a couple of months .
I’ve got the first 4 banks mentioned above with 2 of them @ 2.7% and the other 2 @ 2.55% or below . Just thinking if Shawbrook or atom will up their game soon ? Can they really afford to be way off the pace .

  • Not sure if this is covered before but I've had a few issues with the Chase savings account. When I try to transfer out large sums (just under £10k) they get blocked for security checks even though I'm transferring to an account with another bank in my name. Is this a known issue?

This sort of thing can happen at any bank. It's likely to increase as stricter regulations will come in and banks will be forced by the their licence terms to reimburse APP scams. At present, the reimbursement is voluntary though practised by all major banks already. Understandably, the banks will do everything in their powers to limit their liabilities, which is why they often put blocks on transactions, or even on your entire online/app access, for extra checks. Even transfers/payments to accounts which are, or look as if they are, in your own name are not exempt from these extra checks.
  • A quick query for anyone who's opened one of the Coventry BS Online 6 saver things (without already having an account with them).

I've had the forms through in the post after filling the the application form in on their website about 2 weeks back. I've then completed the application form, scanned it and emailed it the address on the application form (ticking the option saying I'll send an electronic payment once the account is opened).

Does anyone know what sort of turn-around time there is on them opening the account?

They opened mine in 2 working days. But they notify you by sending a confirmation letter in the post with the account information on. I also got an automated response after I sent the email.

Thanks I appreciate you answering. I've not had an automated response email (email sent on Friday). Just checking the address I sent it to, it was correct and it looks to be. I'll send it again, as at present I can't add money or view the account as I don't have the details of the account nor anything to enable me to log-in online etc.

If you don’t get an automated response then call them. I had to wait for a letter to set up login details.
