    First time poster.

just got email saying my Kent Reliance EA is going to 3% on the 20th Jan.

Presumably not the current issue (52) which is 2.47% at the moment?

Some of the earlier issues are 2.75% aer - the CS I spoke with yesterday said they haven't been briefed regarding a 20th Jan rate change, but today I have the following email:

    "Dear S Svr,

We’re pleased to confirm we’re increasing the interest rate on your easy access account to 3.00% AER*. Your rate will increase automatically on 20 January 2023 – you don’t need to do anything. All other terms and conditions of your account remain the same.

If your account offers tiered interest rates and doesn’t currently hold the minimum balance required to qualify for the higher rate, your rate won’t increase unless you deposit additional savings. Please see your specific account conditions for further details.

There’s no need to call us, your account will update automatically on the date above.

If you have any queries regarding your account, please view our FAQs page.

    Yours sincerely
    Kent Reliance Customer Services Team"

So, as I have earlier issues and 52, we still don't know for sure if it'll be applied to the currently available issue (52).

A quick query for anyone who's opened one of the Coventry BS Online 6 saver things (without already having an account with them).

I've had the forms through in the post after filling the the application form in on their website about 2 weeks back.
I'm still waiting since applying over 3 weeks ago. Did you get an email? I only had an on screen message to wait 'a few days' for the paperwork.

This^.  I have been getting emails from KR about interest rate increases, but didn't see them being applied - as I don't use the account I wasn't bothered.

Eventually it dawned on me that the online account access page shows the applicable tiered rate, not the 'headline' rate.  So checking the rate in online account access won't necessarily give the same rate as if the account were appropriately funded.

I got the application paperwork in the post (after filling out the initial details online on their website), which then needs completing, sending back to them in order for them to open the account; that's the stage I'm up to at present. I'm hoping they're just busy with the number of people returning application forms TBH. If I'll give them another 48hrs if I've heard nothing I'll chase it up.
  • Hi,
seems to be a few posts about problems with postal applications for Coventry,
I opened mine last Wednesday to avoid any rush on Friday for the rate increase, all done on line and sent a test £100 which arrived ok.
Logged in on Friday and new interest rate had been applied, now have it fully funded, all done on line, no problems.

But that's not a postal application
  • Hi,
But that's not a postal application
maybe I should've asked the question, 'Why did you not do it all on line and avoid the hassle?'

They were not given a choice. Their online application resulted in a request to submit a postal application.
