    I did 2 today (Tuesday 4th) 9;00 am.

They advised switch completion 12th; so the 7 days in this instance included initiation day and the completion day. TWTF(7th)MTW(12th).

    Not advocating... just sayin'.. :)

I telephoned today to get a switch done.

I called as I did not have my debit card for the account I was transferring.

I thought this was the process to phone if you did not have a debit card.

I was told , the switch will reject if there is an active debit card on the account.

I could not find the debit card. I hope it will not reject.

What have others experience been? Those like me that could not find the debit card?

You've done the right thing as it's maybe too late to order a new card by the deadline anyhow.. so it will be what it will be.

But I've done several with no DC declared and not had a problem.

Did this result in you getting your two missing codes? Had they been sent and not received, or were they just missing from their files? I have phoned as referrer (as missing one for a referree) as we are still missing one, despite chasing a few times :(.

    Thanks

Only answer I have had was 30 May mentioning a certain person was out of the office on annual leave, asking me to reply with last 4 digits of all the amazon codes I have received.

Referrer has been probably away since they sent those big batches week before last thus I have no knowledge if claims were received for the codes/if referrer has recieved his voucher.

They had hope to send any missing vouchers with last fridays batch

If nothing gets answered by time get close to 18 June I will have to resubmit claims for codes I believe missing vouchers relate to.

When I was missing 1 as the referee and my brother-in-law (as we knew the referrer's had received theirs) we rang up and the member of staff said that the emails should have been sent out and so would get them resent manually by the department and the emails came the same day.

They did ask which codes you had received so they could supply that info to the department. You will know if they were the original codes that are missing as the expiry date on the vouchers will be the same as the referrer's/referee's (depending on which are missing).

Not sure if I need to do a few more switches as we have 6 TSB Plus accounts as a couple, opened at the time when it was possible to open 2 single and 2 joint accounts each. They are quite handy as they pay good credit interest but we have not been eligible to any TSB switch bonuses because they always exclude existing customers. Maybe its time to get rid of most of them and bag £50 each from Santander especially as TSB reduces interest to 3% from next month? Or its still better keep them, and hope that TSB will start switch bonus offer for existing customers too?

Can't make the decision for you. Just giving some food for thought: how long will it take you to make £50 in interest on a single TSB account? A bird in the hand etc etc etc..... Having said this, I have decided to keep my TSB accounts for now as I can't get 3% AER elsewhere and I am maxed with Regular Savers. Just got/getting rid of Tesco, Barclays and some Lloyds, BoS and Halifax myself. You have to choose what's right for you.

If you'd have asked earlier I suspect I'd not be alone saying have your cake and eat it:

Keep the 3%... and open 6 donor accounts and switch them...

You could possibly do a couple of Lloyds if you are already a customer.. they're quick but you'd likely have to risk switching a new account without a debit card number.. and that may not work.

Now? I'd still keep the TSB 3%ers as there is little better rate choices for me.

I think we will keep these TSB Plus accounts. Switching them to Santander was a good chance to become a new customer to TSB and thus get eligible to their switching offer. But given all the hassle to switch now at the very last moment and lose of 3% interest, it may be wiser just to wait and hope that TSB will include existing customers in their next offer. Also we already spent all our refferal codes by doing 5 switches each, and doing even more might be just too much.

We decided to just consolidate the accounts we'd have been looking to close shortly anyway. We didn't open any new donor accounts, just to switch. Call us crazy!!! We've still done 4 accounts each, so can't complain at £800.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

The other risk to weigh is that recent former customers may not be allowed the incentive, otherwise the bank would be in effect incentivising account closures.
