Santander Refer a Friend

If you are referred by someone else then you will get £50, as only one of you can claim the voucher. If you are talking about referring yourself i.e. one of you refer and the other person claims then I would imagine YES it will be rejected as that would be referring yourself.0

Yes, it would be one of us refer the other claim.
Maybe i'm having a bad afternoon but i've read through the T&C's and they seem clear as mud on this scenario. Lol.0 -
"TESCO BANK have informed us that they cannot provide this information.."
Is there more before this? What information?
And:
"Your debit card number on your old account does not match our records."
It reads like an incorrect debit card number has been provided, albeit could be a standard statement.
I have 2 Tesco switches, no debit card declared, due to complete 28th. Lets see if that goes through. And 2 more due 30th May which may need attention...
I couldn't find my debit card to the account I wanted to switch so I phoned Tesco bank.
I was told that my debit card had expired and had not been replaced because I hadn't used it in the past. I was also told that it means that I effectively don't have a card for this account.
When I phoned the switching team I told them that there was no debit card with the switching account, hence the hold up.

You can however switch sole accounts into a joint and refer each other, as that wouldn't have your name on the account hence not referring yourself.0

Let me try to make it clear. The person who issued the referral code should not be named as an account holder on any of the accounts involved in the switch.
That's not making it clear.
Actually the person who issued the code CAN be named as a joint account holder on the receiving account. It's only the switching account they can't be named on.
So Mr and Mrs Smith have a joint account with Santander. Mr Smith wants to switch his single account elsewhere into the joint. Mrs Smith can get a referral code and refer him. Worked for me and Mrs Z-man and for others.0 -
Thanks.
I am sorry, I should go on a MSE forum course. Do you mean the board? They said they are very busy and it would be fairer to try and get help in the forum.Cisko - am not what sure what board is very busy!
The reference to the board was to the referrers part of the forum - and you've posted your request there.
Note that you need to actually request via a private message,, not in the way you have done on the referrers board.Thanks.

Could I ask you:
- how I can quickly find my post, without going through the whole thread?
- how I can change my post there? I would like to say that I don't have any Santander referral code.
- where I can put a post saying I have 5 for TSB?
Thanks.
Very much.
And I cannot find a TSB thread.

Your example is irrelevant - the discussion wasn't about giving a card number that's not activated, it's about declaring no debit card.
I already posted how to activate a Tesco debit card, and how to tell if a debit card that you no longer have has been activated.
All 3 of my recent switches (initiated in one phone call) Nat West & 2 x Tesco switched today.. all declared as no debit card..
I asked if I needed to get the DCs for the switch they said 'It doesn't matter'.0
