"TESCO BANK have informed us that they cannot provide this information.."
Is there more before this? What information?
And:
"Your debit card number on your old account does not match our records."
It reads like an incorrect debit card number has been provided, albeit could be a standard statement.
I have 2 Tesco switches, no debit card declared, due to complete 28th. Lets see if that goes through. And 2 more due 30th May which may need attention...
Maybe it was a simple mis-key or mis-heard debit card 16 digit number. Possible??How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

"I forgot that the switching account had a debit card so didn't give the details"
Had the switch been successful would have been luck/lucky0 -
If a card has been issued (or is "in the post" for a new account) then the card number must be quoted correctly for a successful switch.
There have been instances where in those circumstances switch(s) have been successful both for me and for others hence my reference to luck/lucky0 -

Under the Current Account Switch Service, Service Conditions we have therefore had to stop the switch to your Santander current account. We have detailed in the table below what you need to do to enable us to start the switching of your current account again. In the meantime, your existing payments may continue to be paid from your old bank. Please make sure that you have enough money in your TESCO BANK account to cover your regular payments.
Reason your switch has been stopped
Your debit card number on your old account does not match our records
Switching code received from your old bank
XXXX
What you need to do next
Please call us on 0845 609 0010 with your old bank account details. Lines are open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.
I received the above information in an email from Santander.
I'm switching from Tesco as per info above
Same email received for one of my Tesco switches (where I had recorded an active debit card during the switch).
Rang San, they started a new switch recording NO active debit card. This switch failed too.
Rang Tesco, their CS advised that a temporary block was placed on my card in Nov 16 (attempted T hack period?) and that unfortunately the block had not been lifted when the matter was resolved. CS lifted block and reactivated the card.
Rang San, they started a new switch (3rd attempt and 3rd FSWI No.) and the switch is now going through as it should.0 -
Cisko - am not what sure what board is very busy!
The reference to the board was to the referrers part of the forum - and you've posted your request there.
Note that you need to actually request via a private message,, not in the way you have done on the referrers board.
It seems I have to do some homework.0 -
How soon in the switch process did people receive their email from Santander regarding Tesco stopping the switch?
My family have all got switches planned in June so would hate for the switches to be stopped for any reason considering the deadline of 18th June.
I might just go and see if my card works in a ATM as the account I'm switching hasn't been used in years.0 -

Both of mine were the day after application.0 -
Just checking, if we open a joint Everyday account and switch a joint Flexdirect in, can we get a £50 voucher each or will the claim be rejected because both names are on both accounts?
