Any ideas what will happen if one's mobile number port does not complete by Tuesday 26/02/2019?
At the very least, I would not expect to be able to receive calls and texts between then and some later date. At the worst, I'd expect the number to be lost and not salvageable. Given how many failed MVNOs there are, I'm sure there are past cases to learn from???
I submitted my port request to ID mobile on Tuesday evening. Contacted them several times throughout today - a different story from each person, including one saying that all ports into ID mobile have been blocked due to system issues since last week.
Also, annoyingly, TPO cut off my service on Tuesday rather than 26th as communicated. Their online chat just told me to switch my number ASAP.0 -
I'm pretty annoyed as I only found out yesterday (22nd Feb) via a text message, at 5:01PM, that the network is ceasing to exist as of Tuesday. I have not received an email or a letter - to be fair, I don't think I updated my address details when I moved house, but my email address has been the same throughout.
There doesn't seem to be anyone on the 'webchat' so I can't get my PAC number either. I'm at work this afternoon so that only leaves Monday for me to try & get this sorted! First world problems and all that, but it is mighty frustrating.0 -
Anyone having trouble porting their number out? I'm switching to Plusnet and it's been four days and no port yet. Getting a bit concerned.
My mum says she can't get hold of TPO, either by phone or her online account and I see their Facebook page has gone already too so for anyone with problems, cross your fingers.0 -
Just to update my previous post, my TPO number ported to Smarty yesterday evening. The main issues were (a) no info (email/SMS) to confirm the request had been received or was being processed (b) it taking longer than 2 business days (4 days in my case), (c) no email/SMS to say the port had completed. Obviously this is a difficult process to manage but more ongoing info would probably cut down the number of support calls.
The Smarty SIM posted to TPO customers includes the first month free. If you don’t have a SIM I see they also do a referral discount (PM me or other forumites if you’d like a code I guess!).
Fingers crossed for folk who are trying to get sorted before Tuesday when TPO SIMs all stop working...0 -
hi there
After a week away I have come back to this and have to act fast.
I have received my PAC code in an email but no SMARTY sim card has come through the post.
I want to keep my number so is there any way I can get a new SIM and package with another operator tomorrow?
Can I go into a phone shop and do it? Probably easier than waiting for SIM through the post.
Any advice would be more than welcome.
I don't want to lose my number and I figure if I keep with a PAYG no contract deal, I can change to a better deal later.
Any ideas? Thanks everyone.0 -

If one near you, go into Asda & buy PAYG sim over the counter, 50p, then use PAC & port over, sort the rest out later if & when Smarty arrives or you decide who to useEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I've started the porting on Mon, Feb 18 evening to move to IDMobile. I chased on Fri and IDMobile said they were having problems getting details from TPO. Like others getting concerned as to what happens if porting not done by 26 Feb. Does that mean can never use or port existing mobile number after 26 Feb?0

Just checked my bank and TPO have taken next month's DD this morning despite in their letter and on web site saying this would not happen! Was about to cancel the DD - to late!!!!
Has anyone else have this happen?
Is there any way/chance of getting the money back?
I have 'messaged' TPO but the chances of a reply are slim, I think, as they are closing down tomorrow.
Thanks0 -
Could you use the DD guarantee and claim the payment back via your bank?
You have written proof with the letter that the payment wouldn't be taken.0
