If you register with MSE's Cheap Energy Club and put in your postcode and new supplier (i.e., EON Next) you should be able to see the correct tariff for your area (mine matches that shown in Redbullmaster's link), and do a comparison to find any better suppliers. Both Ofgem and Martin Lewis advise not to switch during the takeover process, and Martin in his latest weekly email especially that no-one should currently switch to a fixed deal as this is likely to be higher than the price cap. However a comparison 2-3 weeks ago using Cheap Energy Club did give me a cheaper fixed deal tariff than EONNext's (Variable) tariff (and it's still showing in a comparison today), and I switched supplier then (with a start date over a week ago). Just hoping that this will not cause major problems as EONNext and Symbio (according to mail's received) both still think I am in the process of switching to EONNext, so am continuing to supply regular meter readings to all! We were advised by EONNext in their welcome that we couldn't switch for a while once they properly began their takeover, so I jumped quickly...Just waiting for my (new!) current supplier to go bust now, but every few weeks at a lower rate helps!

Since then, Symbio have obviously gone under and E.ON Next have taken over as SoLR.
My new smart meter IHD still says "Not Commissioned", and so I have to submit meter readings manually (as I did when E.ON recently contacted me for a meter reading)
Does anyone know if E.ON Next be able to commission it remotely, or will they need to send someone out?0 -

My SMETS1 leccy meter which unaccountably started working again in early September, after four years of being dumb. SYMBIO did collect a couple of readings and the IHD is still showing SYMBIO prices so I suspect it will either beome dumb again or switch over to EON pricing.
Only time will tell but I'm sure the world wont stop rotating if it does become dumb, however if yours was never commisioned then it'll probably be up to EON to sort it out.
Does your IHD communicate with the meter or is that dumb as well, as that may or not have a bearing on whether it can be remotely commisionedNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

The meter is a Secure 101. On the meter comms unit, the SW and WAN lights are on but the HAN light is off. No GAS.
The old meter that they replaced was a Secure 100 SMETS1 with a Pipit 500 IHD. That worked fine when first installed by Ovo 5 years ago, but I've changed suppliers several times (including 3 going bust on me!) and it carried on displaying meter data, but not the tariff info.0 -
Glad I've found this forum as I'm owed £494 !! To complicate matters I was in the process of switching when they went into administration. Had nothing but problems with them for past 6 months. Now with British Gas. Had an email from Symbio 18/10/21 saying account in credit and I would be refunded within 15 business days. As the money hasn't come through I've just rang them and they basically said ignore the 'automated' email and refund will be processed by Eon. Just rang them and my details aren't on their systems as yet so advised to sit tight and wait !! and hopefully I'll be refund before Christmas !!

Out of interest why were you switching away given Symbio were as cheap as chips? Was it an effort to get your credit back?0

Likely you will get a refund before Christmas ................ no guarantee which year though1 -
'Good' news: my 'missing' October DD collection (higher winter amount) has finally been credited (4 Nov) on my Symbio online account, so hopefully that'll save me having to query one thing when my credit balance goes across to E.On in the next few weeks.1
