As ever i'll be under reading to take account of their over estimation for the month ahead. Works out about right then. Its fun playing the Symbio game, a bit like chess but more complicated!0 -
I too have had a meter reading request, and the middle of August replaced it for a version 2 smart meter. USIO did the same just before they ceased trading. I think they are getting money from installing v2 metres from the government before they cease trading.
I final got them sort the incorrect bills and base on real meter reading and owed £380, however for the past few months having not paid anything further they are still taking from this credit balance their silly flat rate which is twice what I use.0 -

Even Symbios inflated estimates (based on the EAC) are currently still less than my actual usage
Im actually considering providing reads to "catch up" with my actual usage as if Symbio go bust I might end up paying for units I've already used at the higher price from the SoLR0 -

I've just had an email...not a meter read request (we have a functioning SMETS1 meter, surprisingly)
No - they want to put my DD up, even though I'm in credit, and my existing DD is more than covering usage every month.
I'm sorely tempted to cancel the DD, and take my chances with their £10 fine.0 -

Email sent to alert them to this obvious flaw that renders the concept of a smart meter completely and totally pointless.
As the meter has been changed, I still can't enter the new readings on the website as they are lower (obviously started at zero again) than the old readings. I've sent them an email, but no response.
Like you, I'll just pay the grossly over-estimated amount again this month!
Hey, ho! it's still cheap electric at 12.5p/unit until February 2022 (or until they go bust!)

Got the meter reading request email this morning too. And they’ve increased my direct debit for electricity by £22 pcm from 01/10 too, even though I’m only with them for electricity and have gas heating/hot water. I’m in credit with them by over £100. Their billing system is wack. You’d have thought they’d have waited for the meter reading before amending my direct debit ?0
