Symbio Energy feedback

Always best to do the sums yourself.rceebear said:I have recently left Symbio (after previously having my switch blocked by them) but can't see how much is owed on the account. Can anyone offer any advice please?
Subtract final reading from your original opening reading (when you joined) and multiply by unit rate
Then multiple standing charge by number of days you were with them, and add the two values.
Compare that to the total if the direct debits you paid symbio.....and that is how much you owe/are owed.
Don't rely on their complicated billing system..3 -
Once you supply your opening reading to the new provider, they eventually pass it to Symbio who issue a final bill. This can take 6 weeks or so.rceebear said:I have recently left Symbio (after previously having my switch blocked by them) but can't see how much is owed on the account. The reading does go through a third party, so it may change, the important thing is that the closing/opening readings are the same.0 -
Very unsatisfactory situation. However perhaps there is a grain of comfort in all of this they did not advise refunds were still on hold.Swipe said:rceebear said:I have recently left Symbio (after previously having my switch blocked by them) but can't see how much is owed on the account. Your final bill will tell you that or work it out from your most recent bill based on your closing readings. They were quite fast in producing the final bill, obtaining the final balance refund though is proving to be somewhat impossible (2 months and counting) despite the numerous promises of it being with me within 72 hours and it being flagged as a priority with their account department.

Looks like monthly meter read requests are back !

Yep, just had the same email request. Hopefully they'll still be in business when I submit my readings on Thurs (month end). For all their failings, Symbio's pricing is great: fixed rates for me until mid-2022, although I've probably now jinxed it!molerat said:Looks like monthly meter read requests are back !1 -
Except it's pointless for everyone who had SMETS2 meters installed as the online form does not accept readings beyond one digit and automatic readings are not showing on the recent meter reads.molerat said:Looks like monthly meter read requests are back !
Email sent to alert them to this obvious flaw that renders the concept of a smart meter completely and totally pointless.0 -
This is the first such request I've had - I think they stopped sending them out the month I joined. What struck me was that the name Symbio does not appear anywhere apart from the hyperlinks given within the message. The sender in the header is 'MeterReadings'. Just seems a bit odd.0

I have had an email conversation with them about this issue, they claim that they will be moving us over to the new (2 month old) SMETS2 meter very soon, currently unable to submit a metre reading, looking forward to another laughable "bill" in a few days time.tghe-retford said:

I've just realised that if I 'show remote content' in the email, the Symbio logo does appear as a signature. So my apologies to Mr MeterReadings as his email isn't quite as I implied in my post above.spot1034 said:This is the first such request I've had - I think they stopped sending them out the month I joined. Just received my request for a meter read. Perhaps my 10.74p per kw is safe for a little longer.1
