The writing is definitely on the wall. I give it a month.

My 10.74 per kw certainly looks under threat. Never mind I've had a good run and the credit balance is not huge. Upwards and onwards as they say.

Yes you've stuck with them haven't you. No way is 10.74 sustainable nowadays. I'm supposed to be going onto a fix with green from Oct 1 that would have been 18.7p (an increase from 14.39p) but that doesn't appear like it will happen with their impending bankruptcy. So I guess I'll be put on something like 24.5p per kWh with a solr. You may as well Stay with symbio and their ridiculous billing but cheap tariff until they go . Of course standing charge prices have increased too. I'm expecting a standing charge increase from existing 22p per day to something like 25p. The days of cheap energy are sadly no more

I switched over 3 months ago and still haven't had my refund. I'm owed £279.44 which is quite a lot of money. Contacted them again yesterday and they asked me for my bank details to process the refund. It just feels like they are purposefully withholding the refund.

Hopefully you kicked off the official complaints proceedure early in the process and have taken it to the ombudsman after this amount of time?
Unfortunately I'm only 5 weeks into a complaints procedure so I have another 3 weeks before I can take it to the ombudsman. I should have done it much earlier, but I naively expected customer support to sort it out.

My gas supplier has recently gone into administration and am being transferred to EDF. My former supplier owes me about £100. I had thought great build up a bit of credit to take me over the winter period. I have now learnt my lesson with these minows never over pay. Also I am not paying EDF by dd will pay monthly the total amount of actual energy used. Bit for expensive but only use about 7000kw per year. Luckily we have a multi stove burner.
  • I'm a very happy and satisfied Symbio customer (in the words of Basil Fawlty, perhaps they should have me stuffed!) but I can see from the trouble others have had when leaving that an exit via SOLR might be an easier route. Happily in my case the amount they'd owe me would be trivial, but it might be easier to get it back that way than trying to get it from Symbio if they were still in business.
  • @CRISPIANNE3 but your 100 quid will be returned to you via the solr process assuming you didn't jump ship before solr took over

I was with Symbio from when they first started and possibly will be there to witness their demise. However I have got them to confirm in writing they have now reduced my annual consumption estimate. They promised before but never happened.

Also at one point I was a good £100 in credit but because we are using less electricity that has gone down to about £40.00. So far this month we have used 210 units against their forecast of 650 units. The Oct statement hopefully will be more realistic to my actual usage. Fingers crossed.

Tempting as it was I have not jumped shipped with my gas supplier.

I don't really think ombudsman complaints are top of their priorities at the moment while trying to stay afloat. They'll probably wait it out knowing they probably will become insolvent.

When I took them to the ombudsman they responded quickly after the complaint went in. But knowing that the ombudsman has a mega backlog they may want to wait it out, so not sure if you'd get your balance straight away.

I was a very happy customer to be honest. There were a few teething problems but nothing too horrendous. Had to go to ombudsman as didn't get a final bill for over 3 months without want of trying, I emailed them 4 times before the compensation deadline to try and just get it done, I had a debit balance of about 3 pounds which I just wanted to settle, they ended up paying me £27 for the privilege... saved lots of money with them, only went to octopus as it worked out even cheaper for my usage!
