Symbio Energy feedback

Feel free to ask if you need help decoding the bill. Some of us are old hands at it now.spot1034 said:
When I applied on January 2nd, I was initially told Jan 16th which I thought rather too soon as it was only the end of the 14 day cooling off period. Then when they emailed me a few days later the date had moved all the way to Feb 2nd, which was fair enough and they kept to that date. I don't know if my start date more or less at the beginning of the month is a reason why I have not had any issues with multiple direct debits being taken which a couple of other new customers have reported - it seems they joined towards the end of the month. In fact I've had no problems with them - that is if you discount the half hour I spent this week trying to get my head round their bill which is about ten times as complicated as it needs to be. But I was expecting that as I had also read up about them in advance!northender1 said:I requested an energy switch to Symbio on Feb 11th, and was told the estimated switch date was Feb 25th.
Subsequently I've been told Feb 26th, then Feb 28th, and now I've been told Mar 17th (due to technical issues !).
I presume my 14 day cooling off period ended on Feb 25th, so is there a way of cancelling without paying an exit fee?
Having done further checks about Symbio, it looks like I should get out ASAP.
It gets really exciting when you change tariff because they credit any variance units using a different tariff to the one they used to charge you for them!
The real freaky stuff like free units and charging you the wrong tariff for a few months seem to have stopped.0 -
Still not received my credit back despite leaving them in December. My last DD payment is ever so slightly less than what I have worked out the amount to be. Am I better off just claiming that back and moving on?0

Depends how much energy you have to fight it. Though on principle I would ensure you get all the money owed regardless of how small.Chef1980uk said:Still not received my credit back despite leaving them in December. Always chase errors -however small- couple of years ago, the losing leccy supplier altered my closing read upwards WITHOUT the new supplier doing the same, which would have resulted in me paying for ~ 35kwh twice.(~£4) Argued the toss with them for several weeks before they closed my account but at a much LOWER figure !! I actually made ~£20.Chef1980uk said:Still not received my credit back despite leaving them in December. My last DD payment is ever so slightly less than what I have worked out the amount to be. They really are an incompetent industry0 -
I’ve just been switched to SYMBIO energy and they are charging a whopping £476.06 per MONTH for my electricity Bill!! I thought it was a mistake at first, but that’s what it is. Help! What should I do?0

What's your EAC?Blondell said:I’ve just been switched to SYMBIO energy and they are charging a whopping £476.06 per MONTH for my electricity Bill!! I thought it was a mistake at first, but that’s what it is. Help! What should I do?
£5712 a year is insane and prob is expecting a 40,000kWh usage? It's like they added an extra 0 onto the end of your Eac0 -
Sorry to be dumb, but what is EAC?0

No problem, not a dumb question if you dont' have any prior knowledge.Blondell said:Sorry to be dumb, but what is EAC?
EAC is your estimated annual consumption (how much electricity in kWh you expect to use in a year). This is normally shown on your bills and is used by suppliers for estimated readings.0 -
