Get this, they are actually implying Ofgem is institutionally racist!!
Oh it gets better not only are Ofgem racist, they are also whatever phobic too, apparently.
Smacks of desperation to be honest, you cant apply rules to us or your discriminating because of this, that, the other, allegedly.

We note that you have not followed the official FOIA appeals procedure and have chosen the internet to voice your complaint about our response to your FOIA request. This act is unfortunate, and regulated companies who decide to use social media to denigrate OFGEM are engaging in the form of cyberbullying. It's not something that OFGEM encourages.
Lots of love

The next few months will be critical for them. A lot of people will have their 9-11p fixes with them expiring soon, then the question is will they stay with them at 13p or will they move elsewhere for 13-15p/kwh (+/-smart metering/customer service/TOU tariffs etc)......they may see an exodus of customers.0

I was brought up with the phrase "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" ringing in my ears. Symbio's rant won’t have made them any friends at Ofgem, so next time they're late with a payment, things might proceed differently (if anyone at Ofgem has a backbone).
I doubt that Ofgem are interested in the ever increasing interest free loan that Symbio are tapping their customers for, that's just dodgy business practice.
At 10p, Symbio were a no brainer. At 13-14p that's £130 more on my bill, in which case a non-bullying supplier at a fraction more might be more palatable. I guess the sadistic streak in me wanted to hang on to see them fall, but their arrogance is actually more offensive than their incompetence, so maybe I won't hang around for ever.0 -
Thing is, if Ofgem do respond differently and come down harder than you can guess what the response from Symbio would be can't you.... "See, we told you they were racist because they removed our supply license because we didn't pay our industry bills which every other supplier has to pay on time"0

Fairly sure they know that only too well, which is exactly why they have done it.
Symbio would probably, and lets be honest here, should probably have gone to the wall had it not been for the repeated and significant leeway that Ofgem have granted them, and other suppliers.
Though there are significant issues with Ofgem that need addressing,I dont on balance believe that these,as being raised by Symbio are genuinely amongst them.

I did manage to speak to them today. Yet again the reason the estimated annual consumption has been increased is due to the covid situation. However they say it is reviewed every three months and were not willing to change it. I did explain I have been at home all day for the last 10 years but it just fell on deaf ears.
Also since making this call I have found out the Energy industry figure for my property is 4123 kWh per Year. So the original eac according to Symbio was 4400 per year was already too high and they have increased to to about 4900 per year.

I requested an energy switch to Symbio on Feb 11th, and was told the estimated switch date was Feb 25th.
Subsequently I've been told Feb 26th, then Feb 28th, and now I've been told Mar 17th (due to technical issues !).
I presume my 14 day cooling off period ended on Feb 25th, so is there a way of cancelling without paying an exit fee?
Having done further checks about Symbio, it looks like I should get out ASAP.
