Just had my bill and this one is completely and utterly wrong, it is using fictional meter readings which have no resemblance to my actual ones. The opening read is completely different from the closing read from Feb bill. This did happen a few months ago and took three weeks to get resolved.0

Looks like Symbio are in dispute with Ofgem regarding their 100k fine for late payment of renewable energy schemes.
Get this, they are actually implying Ofgem is institutionally racist!!

Wow, saying ofgem are bullying and racist as they didn't give them an extension, then quoting covid as a reason. Bit rich when they overcharge all their own customers for their cash flow eh.0

Having switched from Symbio in November (to my great relief) I have just had a quick catch up of the latest goings-on here - and frankly I am amazed to find there are still contributors who continue to make excuses for a company who are so obviously intent on ripping-off poor innocent lambs every-which-way possible and laughing all the way to the bank.
WAKE UP!
You guys are the ones who can actually see what's going on! Most ordinary folk haven't a clue and they are getting ritually bled by these parasites. And when these guys finally get their come-uppance, which is surely coming, who do you think is going to sort out the mess and foot the bill? No them that's for sure. It'll be all of us, one way or another.
Their only 'saving grace' seems to be their pricing. But is it? Okay, in the 12 months I was signed up I saved about £50 but only by being on the ball and constantly alert to their scam attempts, followed by their pathetic fawning excuses. But it was never worth the constant hassle. And when I switched it wasn't difficult to find a fixed deal (PFP) which was £50pa cheaper than their best offering at the time.
But what a relief! A website that tells me exactly what I need to know; meter read requests and bills all perfectly on time and in perfect agreement with my Excel forecasts - and all in perfect easy-to-understand English. And they are perfectly happy that I currently owe them money because they know that my fixed DD will even things out as my usage diminishes into summer.
I now realise that when I stuck with Symbio despite their ridiculous shenanigans I was in denial - kidding myself that 'mistakes happen' and ' I enjoy the amusement of jousting with them'. Rubbish. But I came back to this thread primarily to see how punters got on pursuing them for the statutory compensation payments laid down by Ofgem.
As it happens I had the foresight to cancel my Symbio DD well before switching so they only owed me about £7 when I left. However, as expected, they have not refunded this within the statutory period despite numerous written reminders so I am about to claim my £60 compensation via Ombudsmen Services.
"Penny-pinching" you might say. Yes, but 'rules is rules' and only by persuading the cowboys to abide by them do we stand any chance of discouraging Rip-Off-Britain artists such as these from persisting in taking poor, trusting, vulnerable consumers to the proverbial cleaners ad infinitum. Rant over.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist1 -
google -s Ofgem the Last Bastion of Institutional Racism?0

"There are only two companies in the UK in the last 20 years that are run by or owned by BAME/LGBTQ+ parties including Symbio Energy." - Just gonna flat out lie then
Even if they're on about energy companies, it's still un-true.
The whole 'article' just screams of desperation from directors who can't accept any blame for their failures and instead are playing as many different cards as they can try to think of.0 -
