    That's going to make a fair few in this thread happy,isn't it?.
    Humble pie all round for the doom peddlers!  Interest free loan from customers saves the day.  I'm happy with my 10.9p/kWh, but will continue challenging them to stick to the payment schedule they quoted me before I accepted the tariff.
    Doom peddlers?? - Well, if it looks like a duck  . . . etc. Perhaps there's a hint of sarcasm in rp's comment. Anyway, even before the latest news I was considering cancelling my move (to PFP) if only for the continued entertainment value with SE.

    However, having now (from 1st November) switched to SE's cheapest (for me), but variable, tariff I find on finally checking my November bill:
    a) even though SE now have a full 12 months record of my usage they continue to over-estimate my projected usage by almost double;
    b) even though my cheap rate usage is consistently between 70 and 80%, SE continue to project at their 42% figure thus further inflating the 'interest-free loan' demanded;
    c) under the 'About your tariff' section near the foot of my bill they are showing a (sneaky) £25 exit fee - which is not applicable on this new variable tariff; and
    d) the 12 month PFP fixed deal I am moving to, offered via MSE CEC, is (for me) only a few pence per month more than the variable SE tariff to which I switched, and £40+ pa cheaper than SE's cheapest fixed deal.

    So, as a somewhat reluctant switcher, it's a no-brainer. I just wonder if I'll get as much amusement by going with PFP.
    Same here. If it is Low Fair and Green Variable SE03 V2?

    Did not receive any written confirmation and now no details on line. So they can say its £25 exit fee! And it appears applicable?
    It appears no one has any proof of the nil exit fee and some saying Variable tariff just means variable DD? So still has exit fee.

    Did mention this previously on this thread. and also here:

    Seems to be only about 4 - 5 posters on MSE that actually have this tariff.   :s

    Dunno if this is any use:

    They do seem to change the names of things fairly often,for some reason best known to themselves.
    Really doesn't make sense when it's usually the same prices with a different name.
    Suppose they've got to while away the hours between posting Trustpilot reviews somehow.
  • FWIW - My SE tariff is/was LF&G V SE02 v2 - an E7 tariff.
    I also have the tariff change email stating exit fee as n/a.

    My approach to unfair/wrong extra charges is simply to cancel the dd at the first whiff and let them try to recover disputed charges via due process. I don't think so. And if one wants to continue with them they will probably waive.

    It does seem that these cowboy companies do dream up a plethora of tariffs in the hope that something will hit the right buttons, or maybe just to swamp the comparison sites. MSE for one stopped showing SE tariffs a while back. Not sure if that's still the case.

    Account closed, credit refunded and direct debit cancelled. Good luck to the rest of you. Now with Neon Reef.
    Hi, I am in the same position, switched on 1st November, how long did it take to get your final bill?
    10 weeks for final bill. Then another 4 weeks for a credit refund.

    did you push them for compensation. £30 for a late bill - it should have been produced within six weeks  and another £30 for the delay in paying out the credit which should be refunded within ten working days of the final bill.

    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/new-customer-compensation-payments-further-improve-switching refers to issuing a bill within six weeks
    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/consumers/household-gas-and-electricity-guide/how-switch-energy-supplier-and-shop-better-deal/compensation-if-there-s-energy-switch-problem refers to to paying credit within 10 working days

    AFAIK these are statutory requirements and so can be enforced by the Ombudsman so rather than just "contact" them, make a formal complaint to Symbio and request a deadlock letter if they are refusing to co-operate so you can go to the Ombudsman.

    TBH in the whole great scheme of things I'm not a fan of claiming compensation but for some companies who are taking the mickey they  correct their poor performance unless they get the right sort of motivation.

    I left SE on 1st Sept and had a bill with my final reading on 14th October, four weeks ago. As they still haven't got around to stumping up with my credit of  £20 they will be getting a motivational e-mail early next week. Just to remind them of their their obligations and pointing out what I'll be doing if they don't get their finger out (£20 + £30). I guess they'd rather pay up than having a formal complaint and getting another black mark with the Ombudsman

    I will push for the late credit compensation but I cannot get any for the final bill.
    'Final bills. You can get £30 from your old supplier if it fails to issue your final bill within six weeks. This only applies to tariffs taken out after 1 May 2020.'
