Looks like their ridiculous estimations have come home to roost. This month's bill was minus £11. I think their cash flow might dry up soon.

They have estimated 189 kWh for August when I'll use more like 125

My August estimate is EAC/12 minus 16%
August is usually my lowest consumption month as it often coincides with an extended family holiday but that isn't going to be happening this year so I'll be owing them by the end of the month. I'm OK with that.0 -
Massive underestimate for August, 20% below EAC.

There can't be all that many of us who use exactly EAC/12 every single month, even those who have gas for hot water and heating. Most of us would use a bit more than EAC/12 in January and a fair bit less in August (especially if you go away on holiday as well) so what's your problem?
As I'm all electric they don't have any idea of how my consumption varies throughout the year (although I would have hoped that the mysterious third-party they send it away to should have historical info) EAC/12 = approx 8.33% but I use 16% in January and 4% in June. I guess that if you don't heat with leccy then the variance wont be as greatNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

I presently pay 12p/kwh with an s/c of 15p but they have a tariffif which is about 11p with an s/c of 24p, so although the s/c will cost me £32.85 a year more the reduction in the kwh price on my 7200kwh is £72 - a net saving of £40
I can live with their random billing structure to save another £40
They no longer seem to come up on MSE energy club searches. My renewal quote has s/c of 20.5p and if I look at other tariffs on the website is sys 21p. not sure why a diff unless they've put it up in the last couple of weeks as the tariff name seems the same.0
