Multiply your annual consumption in kwh by 1 penny. 2500kwh would add £25 to your bill, 5000kwh would add £50 to your bill and 10,000kwh would add £100 to your bill. However one penny on your standing charge is only worth £3.65. You have to add 10p/day to your s/c to increase it by just £36.50

You need to do your sums , but generally a low user benefits from a low standing charge and higher tariff whereas a high user benefits from a lower tariff and higher standing charge.

Just had a look at my rates and they are 10.074 per kw and daily charge 24p. For us its best to pay a higher standing charge because of our usage.
I can't remember which way round - is it more advantageous to go for the higher daily standing charge and lower unit price if you are a high user or low user?

I remember from years ago when I was with N Power the advisor said to me then if you are a high user then the kw rate is more important than the standing charge. Something I never thought about until it was pointed out to me.

I've also got the Annual renewal request, I don't use that much in a year, so don't really think it's worth moving elsewhere (not had an issue with Symbio either). What do you think with regard to my info? ...

In my area it works out at £289.93 with Neon Reef.  Variable tariff with no exit fee, so look into your crystal ball !

That is what they offered me but their variable tariff (v18?) is 10.9p/21p so I went with that. Amazingly their renewal algorithm made a spot on EAC guess for me.

Yes, Neon Reef is showing the following for me:
    Name: Aqua One
    Type: Long term
    Unit Rate: 12.264p per kWh
    Standing Charge: 14.469p per day

Obviously a better deal at the moment.

So, for the 2 quotes above from Symbio and Neon Reef, which works out better for me with regard to the standard unit rate and standing charge?

Neon Reef is going to be cheaper, but probably only by £4 or £5 compared to Symbio v18. If consumption goes above approx 2400, Symbio becomes cheaper. It must be uphill from Symbio to you,  hence you don't get the 10.9p. Pop your postcode and consumption into the Citizens Advice tool and it'll show the totals. OutFox The Market will probably come up cheapest, but the less said about that the better.
