The industry information and whatever stupid flawed process it uses is not fit for purpose.  That said, I don't believe Symbio are using the industry body, it's just yet more bulls**t from them.

I have just received a detailed spreadsheet from symbio quality assurance in relation to my complaint to the ombudsman. It lists everything. Prices per kw, standing charge, monthly consumption, my monthly meter reads and the monthly bills. It all looks very plausible and very convincing. I noticed they are using only my actual monthly consumption in the spreadsheet. They have excluded their advance estimate, the issue that my complaint was based on.......... eg in May my consumption was 153 units but symbio estimated 278 units but that figure does not appear in their data, which I'm assuming they have sent to the ombudsman.
If Symbio are so proud of their system and want to be transparent, why have they failed to include this important fact in their submission?
It's like their web-site...... the graphs bears no relation to reality

Suggest you add the missing column to the spreadsheet and supply to the ombudsman.  I added another column to my spreadsheet today the show the percentage that their estimate exceeds actual consumption. In the last six months it's ranged from 56% to 81% over actual.

You could also screenshot their graphs, which use estimates and hence are useless - as is the whole website.  They should follow Zog's lead and not bother!

Not quite sure who this mystery regulator is who they send our meter readings off to each month as part of the meter audit and validation but I've a funny feeling this will be the very same mystery regulator who will be requesting photo's of any meter readings that are less than 10% of EAC. Since I've been with Symbio no one has been to read my meter. I've a feeling they are trying to keep costs down by outsourcing this out to the customer instead with the latest terms.

Just on this point - I've been with many different energy providers over the last few years and can't recall the last time someone actually came to read the meter - I don't think that is just Symbio.

Last contact I had with a meter reader was several years (and suppliers) ago when one phoned me and asked me to nip out to the meter and give him the reading, if it wasn't too much trouble!

Just checked back ; only had one meter reader visit since 2015 - just after I had joined Avro in 2019 - he only read leccy meter but his reading has never actually appeared anywhere as far as I can see.

I've had that in the past, my response was "sure, if you pay me!". Heard nothing more.

The only meter I seem to get read is the gas one and that has to be every two years. Apparently to do with safety.

Looks like their stupid estimates finally caught up with them this month. I've just received my bill for £2.78 and that's even with them estimating my July usage 80% higher than it actually will be.
