I joined this lot last week and have just received my first bill.  I agreed for them to take a fixed amount per month but they have seemingly ignored this and taken a much higher figure.  I have of course asked them why but don't expect a satisfactory outcome.  I will still use them as they are the cheapest and cost is by far the highest of my priorities.

I have hit the button and should be joining green. on 23rd March. I shall miss the weird, sometimes hilarious world of Symbio

Just to put some perspective on this - Symbio is not the only company issued with the order:

In January, Ofgem consulted on issuing nine suppliers with a final order, giving them a deadline of 31 March 2020 to comply and become DCC users.

Three of these suppliers (Ampower Ltd, Green Supplier Limited, UK National Gas Ltd) have since become compliant and will not be issued with final orders.

Better Energy Limited has not been issued with a final order as it no longer has any domestic customers and has requested the revocation of its supply licences, which will happen on 20 March 2020.

Five suppliers have still failed to become DCC users and will now be banned from taking on any new customers until they become DCC users.

The five suppliers are Daligas Limited, Enstroga Ltd, Entice Energy Supply Limited, Euston Energy Ltd (trading as Northumbria Energy), and Symbio Energy Limited.

Received my invoice - of course over estimating March usage. They actually did not take any payment from me in February, with the February FIXED MONTHLY payment being taken on 9 March. I will then have the March FIXED MONTHLY payment taken on 31 March. I estimate I will still owe them around £15 by end of March.

I'm not all that bothered about their crazy billing system. As long as monthly payments are FIXED, no cash grab - and as we do use around 10% more electricity in winter than in summer months, I have a balance due to them, so all is good. Suggest people simply get them to take the agreed monthly FIXED amount rather than variable monthly amounts.

Their FAQ's are looking equally impressive....

They need to tidy up their web addresses. There's a big difference between /about-us and /about

    Also /faq and /faqs

I am watching all the above, have a look at me post regarding making money, if they don't get approval then can legitimately close company, i am off tomorrow!!
After free units, they're working out at 10.84p per kWh for me, including VAT.  It's worth hanging on to the bitter end for the comedy.  At least they won't have any time over the next few months to look at their flawed billing system.

Symbio won't be around much longer.

I trusted my instincts. Jumped to green green have been true to their word and are dcc compliant

Symbio haven't been. Still not had my refund a week after being told it was being processed

Oddly, checking the bill I've just received, they are using a lower tariff than the one quoted when I signed up.  It only means a few pence less overall but it's strange. I couldn't find a list of prices on their website at all to check.  Often these lists are hard to find but I couldn't find this one at all.

Remember, the price you were quoted would have included VAT.
The prices on the bill exclude VAT (with the VAT then added at the end)

But as we have all discovered, mathematics is not one of Symbio's strong points,
So if you take the unit and standing charges as quoted on the bill and add the VAT, it doesn't quite come to the original prices quoted. I noticed that from the first ever bill.
(I mentioned it on 24-Aug-2019 @ 10:30am in this thread:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5960285/symbio-energy-feedback/p38 )

If you are talking about something different, then every bill details the name of the tariff used.As far as I can tell, even if you are on a variable tariff, Symbio make it clear if the price changes by changing the tariff name, or at least the version number.

Just noticed that too. Only 26 thousandth of a penny per kWh but that adds up to over 90p for me in the year. Also charged a little less for the standing charge (15p over the year).

Still awaiting delivery of my March bill. Not sure if good or bad news. Also if they are unable to take on new customers does that mean are bills will be even more inflated.
