You need to get that final bill sent. Then the compensation for non refund of credit applies after 10 days0

Reading all the latest posts just feels me with dread. Why am I feeling I have made a big mistake. Await nervously for my March bill. However if it is still wrong there will be no ifs or buts and I'm off and this time I will not be changing my mind.
I have just realised the guy who has been emailing me is called Gurunath. I suddenly realised he has the same name as the town featured on tv last night where they uncovered a scam call centre. Hopefully there is no connection.0 -
Nothing's changed from when you decided to switch, decided not to switch and now seem undecided once more. Symbio's incompetence plods on at a steady pace. It's like a rollercoaster and most of them eventually end safely.CRISPIANNE3 said:Reading all the latest posts just feels me with dread. Why am I feeling I have made a big mistake. I haven't had any real trouble with Symbio (well apart from one of the early DDs being £30 more than it should've been which was corrected in the following bill) but I've only been with them for a few months. Their explanation was a bit confusing, something to do with Winter usage. Early days, I suppose...0

One thing does puzzle me now I think about it: I pay mid month for that months's usage so in effect half in arrears & half in advance but the meter reading (which works for me) given in the start of the following month somehow gives the exact same amount owed that I payed 2 weeks before. Which makes me think one of the variables must be being tweaked to fit the amount taken.0

Understanding Symbio bills is a bit of a black art. If you want to get to the bottom of it, you need to analyse the number of units they charge you for, along with any units they refund or charge for in the consolidation part of the bill and compare that against what you actually use. Building a spreadsheet to model the Symbio billing model was the only way I was able to confirm that they were giving me free units - but that only happens for me when I give a meter reading a day outside their previous estimating window and they add on estimated units that they don't charge for. Your mid-month scenario sounds even more involved!Tank40 said:One thing does puzzle me now I think about it: I pay mid month for that months's usage so in effect half in arrears & half in advance but the meter reading (which works for me) given in the start of the following month somehow gives the exact same amount owed that I payed 2 weeks before. Well it gets worse, I am now receiving replies from symbio meant for another customer, seems they now have muddled up their customer email address so don't be surprised if you don't get an answer!!

The issue with me was a missing payment and trying to get the numpties to resolve it.Talldave said:

Bill's in - all good news here. Free units are back, 16 kWh for the 1st March, after following my "submit reading 1 day after previous estimation period" algorithm. Credit also given for last month's ignored reading.
But the estimate for March has gone up again. February's consumption was 352 kWh and their estimate for March is 653 kWh (EAC was 5000 kWh). That doesn't bother me as this overestimating gets consolidated out every month. Symbio are by far the cheapest, since I doubt any other supplier gives away free energy!

Another over inflated estimate for March but not as ridiculous as January.
Jan estimate EAC/12 +89%
Feb estimate EAC/12 +32%
March estimate EAC/12 +61%2
