Symbio comes up cheapest for me too but only by a fiver. My green ampere tariff was the cheapest but symbio did the only thing they appear to be good at and launched a tariff slightly cheaper

Factor in the hassle and its just not worth it. Very surprised Symbio has been dropped from MSE comparison site. On the other hand perhaps not.

I'm not suprised. Mse didn't list them for quite some time originally. I found them on energyhelpline.com. Originally

Maybe a new website needs launching symbiohelpline. I wonder what proportion of their customer base is actually happy with them though it has to be said I was happy until the January overcharge. My concern now is that ofgem will come down hard on symbio due to their many transgressions. If they don't sort out the dcc thing by May they will lose their licence anyway

I'm getting charged a fixed DD so happy to live with my 10.7p unit rate until they get their licence revoked or go bust.

Surprised to see Symbio has been dropped from MSE cheap energy club. ...
I don't believe Symbio has been "dropped" by MSE.

MSE strives to list all the suppliers and all the tariffs.

But I see Symbio has made a number of changes to their tariffs over the last 7-10 days, the most recent being just 2 days ago. I suspect MSE is playing catchup, waiting for the details from MoneySuperMarket, but in the meantime simply pulled the tariff details that are no longer available to new applicants.

Shame about the 20p/day standing charge and the £25 early exit fee.

I wonder if you will still be happy when they do "get their licence revoked or go bust" with paying the SoLR default fees of over 17p/kWh and about 27p per day for a couple of months, possibly a lot longer if they have to await the slow boat from India to obtain your account details, whilst they sort everything out for you?

MSE have been playing catchup for years.  Scores of tariffs are released each week, and other sites manage to show them all.

The CEC promises 'a full market energy comparison' and to 'check that you're still on the cheapest tariff', but it doesn't do this.
It would be ironic if the CEC get busted by the Advertising Standards Authority for misrepresentation.

Even with the 20p standing charge, nothing on the market can beat my existing tariff.
If they get their licence revoked it will probably be spring/summer time so not that big a deal if it takes a few weeks as I only use about 3kWh a day in late spring, summer and beginning of autumn. I'm happy to take the gamble. I may even try a crafty switch on the day of any news and see if it goes through like a few users with Breeze on here got away with.

Why?  They're still the cheapest.  It's the maths that matters, not emotive opinions on standing charges!  Last year I was paying over 42p a day gas standing charge, but I was still on the cheapest deal available to me.
