It appears green. Have played ball with ofgem regarding the dcc problem. I wonder how symbio have got on?? Here's a message I received today when I asked green about dcc compliance on behalf of friends who are looking to sign up with them

"Dear Taf. Thank you for your message - I'm very pleased to confirm that we are now a DCC User effective from 17th Feb 2020. I can also confirm that the proposed final order will no longer be pursued as we have complied with the instruction from Ofgem. I believe that we have become a DCC User in the shortest time of any supplier to date, and were the youngest supplier on the list published by Ofgem by a significant amount."
I'm just switching to Green .Sent them a message asking about DCC enrolment but haven't had a reply. Also no change on the OFGEM site or news on the Green site, so hope your reply is kosher!!

Helmsy 157. Go onto green website and communicate via chat. You will get a reply within minutes. Website address is https://green.energy

Brewerdave I enquired about dcc and ofcom via Facebook today. The reply was as I posted above. I've no reason to dispute it. Looks like it only took place yesterday so maybe a press release is imminent

Applied to switch yesterday, still no direct response to complaints, unfortunately new supplier has now queried my usage figures as they are well below the national average, oh well.

So I asked symbio the same question via Facebook messenger - "What's the situation with the ofgem dcc compliance. Is it sorted now?? Are you still at risk of having your licence removed??"

Quite a quick response from them by their standards a mere 75 minutes

Their response - "Hey Mr. Rock, thank you for dropping a message to us. We are working towards the up-gradation of our system to be compatible with the smart meters, so fingers crossed it won't be too much longer."

So in short no. But I do like being called Mr rock 😂

They got very defensive with me on another site when I mentioned they used an overseas contact centre. They implied it was widely knownand that is how they can offer cheap energy.  As I said it was not a criticism just an observation.

Yes I saw that and they implied most uk companies do the same. If I'm not mistaken those days are past due to customers turning away from customer support centres based overseas. I know virgin media still do it but its not as common as it once was. I've definately not come across a utility company doing it recently
  • Surprised to see Symbio has been dropped from MSE cheap energy club. When I checked yesterday  was still there but there was a message on another site advising they were dropped. Perhaps it may have something to do with the customer feedback rating.
BTW Symbio by moving away from you I save £15.00 a year. So obviously you are not the cheapest.

I made a formal complaint weeks ago no reply from symbio. I have used the direct debit guarantee to recover £223 when my bill was £152. I have not even been billed so far for this month, I have now placed a switch to green I'm sick of the behaviour of symbio the regulator needs to sort this company out and fast.
