I was in Lidl today to buy items I use weekly, all had increased in price (between 5% and 10%) from the previous week. They have done this with indecent haste as you could see the old prices left underneath.
On enquiry an employee stated increased costs the cause.1 -

Presumably the old price shelf label is under the new. Sounds like they've put them on top rather than remove the old label- with how busy they are that is understandable.1

Lidl Prestonpans.
For example, walnuts £1.85 to £1.98.
The old prices are still visible under the shelf labels.

I was in Lidl yesterday, usual shopping and can't say I found any price increases but maybe that's just my items?

Just got back from Lidl, intention was to shop three days early, if having to self isolate. Some shelves half full, though UHT milk and ordinary milk available. All bread gone by 11am. Got everything I wanted. No obvious price increases, though Gammon Joint was £3.40kg.1

My lidl has huge queues but the self service tills are not in use. I don't know why they don't open them. They are losing customers who only want a few things.0

Hate to say it but theft & only 2 packs of paracetamol per transaction an issue.0

Tried lidl's own version of monsters munch- definite miss for the picked onion flavour, just tasted of vinegar, bleh...

Don't know specifically about Lidl but SMs would need to alter the software to limit purchases /prevent panic buying. Maybe that's not easily /quickly achievable.
Unfortunately we've come into this crisis on the back of the austerity policy. Lidl have kept staff to an absolute minimum and relied on self service tills. Now they need to staff tills they have a problem.0
