Also, the Aldi "Soyummy" Soya Yogurt has returned.   500g for 89p
Also...  new product at Lidl:   Just Free Soya Yogurt.   500g for 89p.

Soya yoghurt never tastes that good to me, always has an odd aftertaste. Give me plain old moo-juice yoghurt any day.

PS when did the spelling of yoghurt lose its "h"?

According to Wikipedia around 5000BC.   ;)

    (I think it's a US/UK English thing).

Yogurt is a more logical spelling when using the American pronunciation Yo-gurt.
The extra consonant in what was the usual British spelling of yoghurt indicates a pronunciation of Yog-urt.

The Turkish origin would suggest a pronunciation more like yaourt which as well as the way the French spell and say it remains yet another alternative English spelling, albeit one that has largely disappeared.

We often see posts complaining about the shelf life of some Aldi fruit and vegetables. Just lately I've noticed a huge improvement in their carrots. Not sure if they're packing them drier or what but the quality is excellent.

I buy 1-2kg a week, and whether from Aldi, Lidl or Asda (rarely) none have deteriorated due to moisture.

Aldi's potatoes have been better this year, too. I think they have listened.
  • My local Aldi has some beautifully healthy primulas in atm. They are just begging to be divided before planting  :)

I'm a tad cross. Aldi's frozen pizza's, which were my lazy day standby, have now gone up to 99p.  They were 69p only a year and a half a go, and have steadily risen since then.  There is now no point in my going to Aldi specially for them, as I can get 99p pizza's in loads of places.  Bad form, Aldi.  Bad form.
Live the good life where you have been planted.
