    Good idea!

I put the serial No into the Fujitsu site and it tells me that BIOS 1.17 is compatible with W7!

So how do you propose to utilise it? You don't have Windows installed. Remember? :money:

    CD Image

Download, un-zip, use Windows image Burner to burn the image to CD. Boot off the CD and run Flash.bat

    Instructions are in the links.

But we haven't yet seen any pics with the SSD in...

Oh, so the SSD doesn't work with BIOS 1.16 ? Same as before? " HDD = 0bytes" ? Damn it again.

With the SSD in - not done anything with the BIOS ....
    Info page = the same
    System page = Drive 0: [CT500MX500SSD1-(S1)]
    press enter ...
    Drive 0: Enabled
    Type: Hard Disk
    Model: CT500MX500SSD1-(S1)
    Capacity: 500GB SATA1

Boot page: different to before as I changed it to CD first, then HDD

EDIT - just tried to boot with the SSD in and it says

'media test failure - check cable'

    'Operating system not found'
(which I suppose is obvious, coz I haven't loaded one!)

Sorry, quick recap (for me)... you upgraded the BIOS to 1.16 and the pics you shared showed that and with the hard disk in its usual place. So why haven't you swapped the hard disk with SSD ...just to see if it is recognised in the BIOS (it hasn't been previously, unless connected via USB).

I haven't done anything with the BIOS ... yet
My previous post #48 was with the new SSD in
I've just tried to install w10 from CD and it says

"Windows cannot be installed on this diak. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style"

    Sorry, my mistake.

At the Custome install option, you want to erase exisiting partition and let W10 do its thing.
