Re. BIOS 1.21. Don't know where that came from; Windows cannot install a BIOS. You wouldn't normally downgrade the BIOS -but should be ok **at own risk**
Double check compatibility first. e.g. enter serial number from
    http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Index.asp?lng=COM&OICID=138650
(you've done all this before and ended up with 1.19 I believe).

Regarding W10 drivers. You may have already got here

    ** But don't download DriverEasy **

Anything missing in the Device Manager?

Meant to post that before I went out ninety mins ago. :)

So let's investigate why the device cannot start....

Aaaahh...I see you already have instructions. We'll see which version Fujitsu supplied in the first instance....

    http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDownload.asp?SoftwareGuid=6EFBF9F9-1B1F-4146-BB45-65162CDE7E3E is the supported version.

There is also this Drver for Windows 10; http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDownload.asp?Softwareguid=CCC222FC-5110-42D6-BBC3-6CBB59AE1BC6

Nothing obvious in device manager - just the IMEI yellow triangle :(

I've downloaded IMI driver three times now, unzipped it and then run the 'set up' but it goes through the motions and next, next, finish.
Remove device, reboot, search for new drivers all give the same result. (and the yellow triangle is still there!)

...and out of Interest, does everything work with the old HDD installed?

I'd also like to test it with Windows 7 installed....

    More work eh?

I've flashed the BIOS back to 1.19 - no difference.
Quite how it got to 1.21, I have no idea as I don't have that downloaded anywhere!

Tried to install the IMEI again, no success

So, I've disabled the IMEI altogether and the fan runs correctly ...

The owner is coming now to collect it, as he needs to use it, so fingers crossed!!

Well, I *think* so - I have three driver packages in the download folder, and they are all the same!

Blimey, that's a weird one. IMEI is remote control stuff, and disabling it sorts the fan out. Fingers crossed indeed.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

    Good news. :)

The second Driver is Fujitsu System Utility (FUJ02E3) .
But if everything is working, you can leave well alone.

    Good news indeed :D
The beast has gone back home .... just hope it doesn't cause any further issues.

Thanks both for your help/guidance. :T

Just out of curiosity, are there any implications from disabling the IMEI??
