Shower Screen Spray

Hi,
I find that using cream cleaner on my glass shower screen works wonders. I tried using water and vinegar but this didn't seem to get rid of the scum and limescale that plagues our bathroom. Cheap cream cleaner will take the worst off and water and vinegar can be used to prevent the dirt building up. Just make sure that the cleaner is rinsed properly and hey presto!
hope this helps!

Another vote for Astonish cream cleaner. You can get it at the Pound shopsWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0

I use one of those microfibre cloths, just dampened and elbow grease. It looks smeared when you've just used it but 10 minutes later its really clean and smear free. Used it on the mirrored wardrobes in the bedroom the other day and good result there too.0

Hello there!
I may well have the answer to make you happy to clean those shower doors.
Get yourself down to the diy store and find a window scraper, its a tool used to clean paint off windows. It usually has a single blade attatched to a small handle type thingy. With your armoury of this, a rubber squeegee, possibly vinegar if you are into that for cleaning and a green and yellow scrubby. shower doors are a delight!!!!
I am a domestic cleaner and believe me my clients are overwhelmed when they see how good their doors look. They have tried all the limescale products to no avail.
Just be careful of your fingers and go easy on the scraping till you get the hang of it, and keep out of small childrens' reach and all will be well.
Happy scraping- I find it quite therapeutic and rewarding

We have a new screen and have tried different solutions and products but the best, easiest and cheapest so far has been - get a wet/damp cloth and put about a 10p size blob of undiluted washing up liquid and use that on the screen - it lathers up and covers the whole screen - then just rinse away, leave to dry and buff with a soft cloth ( in our case an old white cotton t- shirt)
And as you have a soapy cloth left -wipe the chrome taps down as well as this is the recommended cleaner for chrome taps ( so our literature on our new ones says!!!), rinse, and buff these as well when dry.
You don't need much elbow grease with this version as the soapy suds cuts through the scrum with little effort0 -
I have just thought of another tip to keep limescale down. Once you have cleaned the doors you can spray them with a little multi surface polish (eg.mr sheen) and this helps make a barrier from the water scale.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Can I second the post about using a microfibre cloth? If you use it after every (or nearly every) shower, you won't get a build-up of limescale and your showerscreen or door will be sparkly clean without using any chemicals or leaving the bathroom smelling of vinegar.0

Fed up of buying the stacked-with chemicals and v expensive mr muscle shower shine etc - any tips on how to help it stay clean once it is? (and do I use white vinegar to get it sparkly in the first place?)
Hope you can help

Hi,
Not particularly OS, but I have had great success with Astonish Cream Cleaner (I use the orange variety). About 85p from Home Bargains, and the like.
Beware - very slightly abrasive, but has been OK on my glass screen for a couple of years.

Take the shower head off the hook when you're done and just spray the cabinet to wash the soapy water off. Step out, get dried, and then wipe the shower down to remove standing water which will avoid getting limesacle marks as it dries.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
