Shower Screen Spray

anybody have the common problem of having water marks left on your shower screens after youve used it?

here's a tip, buy some windscreen rain repellent such as 'rain X' from e.g.halfords and apply it onto your shower screen.
once you've done this, you'll find that less water marks are left on the clear glass itself due to the water just running off!

Give it a go, and lets hear your views!

You could also buy a squeegee(?) thing. Morrisons sell one for a couple of pounds for bathrooms. Just have a quick run over it after each use and it looks as though it has just been cleaned!
    Waddle you do eh?

or you could do that, yep!
its like the rubber wiper, which is often used to take water off wet car body panels when washing and drying cars.

I used some neat washing up liquid, thinly applied.

However, if those products you mention are cheaper - I'm up for it! ;D

How often do you have to reapply it?
    Does it work?
Would it work on the tiled area too?

Just trying to think of permanently ridding my shower of cleaning. tee hee ;D

Edit...hmmm...spose i'd have to clean it first though, hmmm :(;)

I might give this a try once I've got the glass clean!

Has anyone got any tips for getting rid of stubborn water marks on glass shower doors? I live in a hard water area and none of the power sprays etc seem to be any good at getting rid of the marks - despite the claims on the bottle.

you have to apply it about once every week, and then it also depends on useage.

it is affective, the water just runs down the panel. and im sure you can use this on tiles aswell, but havent tried it.

two things come to mind, with your question.
firstly, get some glass cleaner, which you've probobly got, apply it onto the glass screen and wipe it off using a newspaper, not cloth. it will work better.

if this doesnt work, use a anti limescale solution or cleaner. such as those used in kitchens for kitchen sinks. theres plenty of products available that get rid of limescale, which is mainly made up of calcium.
and then wipe it off, it may loosen up the water marks-limescale-Calcium.

    give it a go!!! ;)

As a newbie, you might not be fully aware of the advntages of ........  [glow=red,2,300]VINEGAR[/glow]  ;D

Us regulars use it to clean EVERYTHING!!  Here is the original thread for your info (you'll be using it for everything except on chips soon too ;D).

You can use it for cleaning glass and it is the best thing to us to get sparkly mirrors so if you haven't tried that give it a go.  Hope it works for you.
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)

Thanks for the tips. I've tried all the commercial limescale removers already so I'm off to buy a bottle of white vinegar to see if that'll do the trick. I can't believe how versatile it is! I think I'm about to become a vinegar convert............
