  • I have a squirty bottle in the shower. It used to contain something like Shower Sparkle but once it was finished I refilled it with cold water, a good squirt of washing up liquid and sometimes, a couple of drops of bleach. I squirt it around once I have finished and I find that things are very much better when it comes to a proper clean.

    Hope this helps
  • I am a cleaner. The way we get showers clean is to use cillit bang, give a good rub. Then wipe off, then use glass cleaner. They come up like new.
  • I agree with Dobie, a window cleaner type squeegee wiped down on the tiles and the glass keeps everything nice and shiney after every shower. Also helps to keep away all the other nasties that build up in the shower!

Mould etc turns up at frequent intervals in my shower and makes it look all grotty (not to mention being unhealthy for me) and I'm wondering whats the best way to keep my shower looking/being okay. I can see there is products in the Lakeland catalogue that say "pay several £s for me - spray me on every time you use the shower and problem sorted"......er...nope actually.

I dont wish to spend several £s a go for whatever I use on that shower - and, even more to the point, I dont wish to breathe in whatever chemicals those products have in them on a regular basis.

Does anyone know anything cheap and - most importantly - healthy I can use for keeping the shower looking good and mould-free (so I'm not faced with having to look at grotty mouldy sealant and grout most of the time) please?
(I was wondering whether I could perhaps put a bit of teatree oil in water for instance and use that to clean the shower each time I use it perhaps?)

I take an ecloth into the shower with me and as soon as I've finished and before i get out I wipe all the surfaces down well, wringing the cloth out frequently along the way.
