Thanks Bongedone... any particular type of vinegar (are there any which don't really smell of vinegar?!).
I guess I could put a drop of lavender oil or something in it to counter this...
Thank you!0 -
I would use white but I don't think it makes any difference. The smell should dissipate.
If you have citric acid then this will do the same job or even lemon juice.0 -
Vinegar in a spray bottle will do it I'm sure.
Depends on if you have tiled or panel walls around your shower. However you can use a little bit of car wax after cleaning on tile and the water will sheet right off without leaving marks. Not sure if it is safe for use on the panel walls.Take the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

The only problem with using vinegar is that it will take the coating off anything that is plated and usually most shower cubicles are!! When using vinegar you need to rinse, rinse and rinse again. Not sure you could leave it on long enough to do the job before you need to rinse it whereas, I think I'm right in saying, that with the shower shine stuff you just spray and leave it on.
It's not 100% effective but I use a window squeege blade and clean the water off the shower doors as soon as the water is switched off. It doesn't get rid of the marks entirely but is a major improvement on nothing at all. As well as the water content, the type of personal product you use also makes a difference.
Hope this helpsDawnie :j0 -
Hi debtdesperado,
There's an earlier thread with some suggestions that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the ideas together.

Hi, I have only found the Old Style board this week and I love it!! I have a question and wondered if someone could help please? We have glass shower doors and no matter what I do they never look clean (inside I mean, outside they are fine). Yesterday I scrubbed them clean and they looked really nice, but then I had to rinse off the cleaning stuff and by the time the water had dried they were covered in water marks and looked unclean again. Does anyone have any ideas?? Thank you x0

I use hot water,a micro fibre cloth and plenty of elbow grease, you can dry it off with a micro fibre cloth too they are great0

I havn't tryed this myself but, i am sure i have read somwhere that if once you've got the glass clean spray it with furniture polish as the silicon or somthing like that in the polish leaves a barrier between the glass and the water and lets the water bead off and stop the water marks. Hope this helps.

Not a particularily cheap solution, but I use Doktor Power on my glass shower door and it works a treat, just apply it in circular motions on both sides and then wipe off with the same sponge rinsed out. I then buff it with an old towel and its clear and sparkly.
Think it costs about 4.99 (no pound sign sorry) but that lasted me over a year! Best product I have found for it.0 -
may sound daft but try wd40 it is unharmfull to glass and is a degeasant and water dispersant .spray on and buffif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0
