    Hi All,
    Thanks for having me :D
I'm shattered today I think it might be all the exercise dvd's :rotfl:
I have been 'watching my weight' since Christmas and have noticed I put on about 2-3lbs over the weekend and then spend all week loosing it so keep ending up at the same weight on a Friday!
Obviously what I could get away with 10 years ago is not going to work now.
    Today:
B: 1 x boiled egg, 2 x Weetabix (aldis own) spoon of blueberries and spoon of tinned peaches
L: broccoli, small amount of rice and slimming world chicken and bacon stew thing I did in the SC (I made these ages ago and portioned them up with the broccoli and rice in smaller 'lunch portions' then froze them)
S: I have a banana and a rice cake with me or either/both of those
T: Breaded chicken (not ideal) salad, golden veg rice and a couple of homemade wraps
S: Something around 100 cals (probably chocolate :rotfl:
E: Just a bit of housework tonight!

Another day here that started off really icy and ended up with brilliant sunshine and everything melting. So again, I started off with a snowy walk this morning and played tennis this afternoon.

Lunch: Scrambled eggs. No toast or anything as I don't like exercising with a full meal inside me.
Dinner: Pork steak, half a small baked potato with butter, peas, sprouts, mushrooms, roasted pepper and aubergine.
Treats: 4 small squares of dark chocolate. Piece of feta cheese

Have managed my minimum of 5 different vegetables every day this week and keeping to over 15,500 steps daily. Most days I've managed over 20,000. I've also kept to under 50g of carbs each day. Recording it all definitely helps keep me on the straight and narrow.

I usually babysit every other Thursday but the other Granny is having grand daughter this week as she's away for the next few. So an unexpected free evening ahead of me which is nice.

I am in awe of your daily steps , it makes me tired just reading it ! What an inspiration .
  • Breakfast was two pieces of homemade bread toasted with butter, dinner was tomato soup and a piece of bread and butter and tea was bake potato, tuna, chicken and chicken rice and mayo. Really nice having the same as everyone else tonight. Went for a walk and it gave me 246 calories extra on myfitnespal but I am not using all of them, I am just having a biscuit later which is 39 calories but only need 19 from my walk. Last twice I lost the weight I went from 12.4 stone down to 9.13 and 10 stone following slimming world, but I prefer the myfitnespal calorie counting because I can eat what i fancy anyway I am feeling much more motivated and in control of my diet at the moment and it is thanks to this thread. Big thanks xx

I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough

I'm impressed by the walking Rose Wood I'm a walker but find it too cold at the moment to do too much after work so I'm currently trying to walk for 45 mins lunchtime but it's not always possible due to work. Once the clocks go forward I walk most evenings and get in a least a couple of 10kms a week.

Do any of you make an alternative to white sauce when making lasagna? I currently make the usual white sauce (flour, butter, milk) but have been looking at alternatives online and have seen a couple of suggestions one for blitzing cottage cheese and another using yoghurt with eggs whisked in, i was just wondering if they worked? I don't want to waste a lasagna if they don't taste good.

    Food for today :
B - porridge with banana and blueberries
L - was the last of my minestrone soup it was a small portion so I added a couple of crackers
D - roasted cod, HM oven chips, french beans and tenderstem broccoli
S - there was more cake in the office :( a colleague was going on Mat Leave I must get some willpower the problem is it gets put on the kitchen table and calls my name when I'm waiting for the kettle to boil

There's plenty of fruit in should I feel the need to eat anything else but at the moment I'm full

  • I do like walking and hardly ever drive anywhere. I find if I put lots of layers on and walk fast I stay warm, but am lucky enough to be retired and can walk during the daytime. In fact, one of my resolutions is to drive at least once a month so I don't get out of the habit! DH loves driving so if we go anywhere he always drives. I like sitting in the passenger seat listening to the radio and doing my crochet!

I make a low carb cheese sauce using double cream, a squirt of mustard and grated cheese. If I want it a bit thinner I add a bit of chicken stock or the water I've cooked the vegetables in. Really fast, but obviously not particularly low calorie. I have made it with Greek Yoghurt too but prefer cream. I find single cream makes it too runny though.

I need to join in with the challenge, please can I be put down for a loss of 10lbs. I've got rid of most of the 'naughties' from Christmas and am now trying to get rid of the bad habits, and back into good habits as I have hardly any clothes that fit me, and would love to be able to wear my smaller size clothes, which I bought the last time I lost weight, again. I started eating more healthily on Monday, and have not had any snacks in the evenings, also been drinking more water. I will weigh in tomorrow, hopefully I will have lost something so it will encourage me to keep up with it.

    Thanks Rose Wood

Unfortunately I'm slightly asthmatic and I find walking on a cold evening makes me wheeze, during the day it's usually ok and I like a brisk walk to clear the cobwebs

Rose Wood my hubby is just the same regarding the driving, in fact if I offer to drive he gives me a pained look - I'm not a bad driver either!

I'm very impressed with your step count, I rarely break the 10k, I need to work on mine.

Today is DD birthday so it went

    B: cereal
    L: donut on the go
    S: 1/2 a pizza and a garlic bread
Snack: small piece of birthday cake

I also had two fizzy drinks which I never normally have. Although today obviously wasn't a "diet" day, it is actually quite tame compared to what I would have normally had portionwise. I need to up my fruit and veg though. I tend to eat vegetarian usually but for the last two weeks meat has featured quite heavily and I must say my digestion has suffered for it. Back to veggie asap I think.
  • Another day sticking on plan - and no sneaky choccy snack today!

B - berries and low fat Greek yogurt
L - salad with Cajun chicken and 2 hard boiled eggs
Gym workout 30 mins cross trainer
Post gym meal - same as breakfast
Snack - 2 cheese strings and a couple of 1cm cubes of cooked chicken while prepping tomorrow’s lunch.

I have my dog in the office with me so I have to go out out for a walk with him at lunchtime. Generally about half an hour.

Fat Friday in the office tomorrow, not given in to it yet. Made extra low coronation chicken to go with my salad and I’m proper looking forward to it!
    Weigh in tomorrow 🤞🏻
