STS please Cranky I know I shouldn't complain as it's not a gain but I'm not happy with it. I need to get my act together as I've faffed since the new year and it's the end of March. However It's a new week so time to start again at least when I reach a weight I'm happy with I'll know how to maintain  my sister has a lot going on in her life at the moment and isn't really dieting so we're currently not doing a lot to motivate each other which needs to change but I need to 'handle' it carefully without upsetting her.

Munchkin well done on the race you should be proud of yourself :)

Rose Wood . I love the sound of you dinner I haven't had scallops for ages and love them

B - usual porridge and fruit
L - vegetable rice with a dash of chilli sauce
D - jacket potato with cheese and HM coleslaw
S - small piece of lemon drizzle cake and orange

Lots of good losses this week. Well done to all and commiserations to those who are not happy.

I have been doing ok and doing lots more exercise this week since getting back from my daughters. The next few days will be the biggest challenge though as I am off to France with a friend and of course the French wine, pastries and crepes will be oh so tempting.

As I am away from tomorrow evening until Monday evening I will weigh in a day early tomorrow and then do my final weigh in on Sunday 31st. I got on the scales yesterday and have lost another pound so providing it says the same tomorrow I will then be 2lb off my goal and my first stone since I started my healthy eating plan.

Today I had porridge and a banana for breakfast.

Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich from costa coffee with a skinny americano for lunch

Dinner was turkey and bacon risotto and grapes with low fat natural yogurt for pudding.

Snacks were a clementine and an apple.

10443 steps today. Will hopefully fit in a gym session tomorrow morning.

Weighing in to report a -3 lb loss. Somewhat surprising as I was 2lb heavier yesterday but did a lot of exercise over the last few days and my scales are crude and don't weigh in half pounds. I have also weighed myself about 4 times this morning to check it is not my eyes which are the problem.

Am fully prepared to either STS next week or even gain but will take it for a win this week. I have now met my challenge target of 12 stone 8lb but will weigh in again next week anyway for the last week. If this challenge is going again from April can I join in? I still have 1 stone 12 lb to lose to get to my ideal weight. My nutracheck app forecasts that to be mid July.

Thank you all for keeping me on track

    Good morning all,

dandy-candy well done both for your NSV (non scale victory) of being able to bend over and get back up again. I remember being so pleased when I could sit down in the middle of the floor and then stand without having to use a piece of furniture to help haul me up.

Frith, welcome, we're always happy to have extra members for our virtual slimming club. Do you want to leave setting a target until our new challenge which starts on the 1st of April? K9zz I was wondering the same for you too - do you want to set a target or wait until we start again?

Well done to the new runners and well done on your race Munchin. I'm still so scared of being last that I don't even park run, sigh!

Rose Wood good luck with the paint. We had a really hard time choosing grey for the House Troll's bedroom. I used a colour from Homebase in the end but I am never ever using their own paint ever again as the house stank of paint for 3 weeks after. It was horrible!

Right.....I've had a bit of a face on this week. I've also STS which is no bad thing considering but I realised yesterday that back in August 2018 for a one week special offer I weighed 14st 2 lbs. Since then I've gone up to 14-11 and then mostly messed around between 14-4 and 14-7. I will be taking myself in hand as i really, really want to be able to say that I'm 13 stone something sometime soon.

On the plus side there's been a few things that have cheered me up. I managed to weed 3 borders in the swamp/garden yesterday and all of my seedlings/baby plants that I've grown from seed are coming along nicely. I need to get out there again and nail a few fence panels back together but that might have to wait as I'm going to visit my friend who is having chemo tomorrow and I've promised her a cake (she's on a high dose of steroids so she's hungry a lot). I've also reminded myself that the coat that I'm wearing which is now a bit too big didn't actually fasten when I first bought it so some improvement has been made.

Take care all of you :)

    Evening Everyone

It wasn't quite as warm today as yesterday but still lovely for the time of year. I played tennis this morning and went for a run then a walk this afternoon. DGD will be arriving shortly as its my babysitting night and she stays over.

Lunch: Cheese and spinach omelette with lettuce, cucumber and cherry tomato
Dinner: Smoked haddock with peas, peppers and a tiny jacket potato. Greek yoghurt with raspberries.

As I write this I can see the cherry tree outside my window has just come into bloom. It's laden with beautiful white flowers and is very uplifting.

Hope you all enjoy your evening.

  • Hi all

Just a quick one to record a 1.5lb loss! I weighed a day early (Tues morning) as we then spent the day driving back up to Scotland. I hope this is the start of a good couple of weeks now.

I haven't been overly active, but have been busy making our married quarters a bit more homely. I brought up more things from home (we're going to be a two-home family for a while) and have been tidying and arranging stuff for the past two days.

I have brought a different set of scales with me, and didn't check to see how they compare with my usual ones. Hopefully, they won't weigh me 10lb heavier!!

    Keep positive everyone!

Hi all, I’m confused! Every time I post on here it insists I add a title to my post and yet none of you have titles on your posts. What am I doing wrong please?

Sorry, I don't have a clue. Does is happen on other threads or just this one?

Munchin Well done on completing the race and don't worry about the speed, or lack of, because getting round without stopping is a massive achievement.

Rose Good luck with the new kitchen paint and how lovely that the tree's starting to blossom. I love how pretty trees look at this time of year, even if it does sometimes make me think of The Selfish Giant.

Sirens Well done on getting to week 4 and managing 5 minutes. I'm finding that 90 second runs are really hard so I'm very impressed.

Brambling I hope things get better for your sister and you can go back to encouraging each other. It's always difficult when someone's having a hard time to find a way to help without risking upsetting them.

Enthusiasticsaver Very well done on hitting your challenge target and I hope you're having a good time away.

Cranky Sorry you've been a bit down and well done for focusing on the improvements. I hope all goes well with your friend today.

I seem to be sticking reasonably well to things this week and am managing to make sensible dinner choices even though I'm not getting home until late so need things which are quick and easy. I do tend to find weekends much harder though as there's less structure to the day and I'm more likely to have alcohol.

I find drinking is generally a double whammy where dieting is concerned - not only are there one hell of a lot of calories in booze but it also massively reduces my willpower so I'm far more likely to give in and binge on everything that I manage to control normally - but we're going out with friends tomorrow and I know that there's pretty much no chance of me sitting in the pub nursing a soda water while everyone else is on the booze.

Hopefully the fact that I'm only about 1lb away from dropping down into the next xx stone something will be enough of an incentive to reign me in somewhat.

Why is it that, even though it's still only the difference of a couple of pounds, 14 stone 13 sounds so much better than 15 stone 1?
