Good evening everyone. Just thought I would pop on for a moment to do a quick update while my cottage pie is cooking(half lean beef padded out with red split lentils to minimise calories). I am back from my weekend away and have eaten out for the past three nights and two lunches so getting on the scales tomorrow should be interesting.

Thursday night I did mackerel, salad and new potatoes at a local restaurant.
Friday night my daughter and I did Bella Italia and did one of their lighter meals which are less than 600 calories. Chicken on pasta with vegetables.
Saturday night we did an Indian restaurant in London and there were loads of vegetarian options and as my daughter is vegetarian and I figured that would be less calories we did a veg curry with sag aloo and pilau rice.

I just find eating out difficult to make healthy choices but am getting there.

Only two weigh ins to go until the end of this challenge. Greenecogirl Well done on being the lightest since you got pregnant. Difficult to eat healthy when you have a little one. CRANKY Hope you can get back to running tomorrow. I am hoping to get some exercise in this week until I go to France with my friend on Thursday. RoseDo you not do breakfasts? I had a brunch this morning before leaving my daughters to come home so this will be just two meals today which is unusual for me as normally I need breakfast but eating the curry last night filled me up so much I waited until 11.30 am this morning for brunch.

    Hi Enthusiastic Saver,

No, I don't eat breakfast. I do a lot of my exercise in a morning and I much prefer exercising on an empty stomach. I'm not hungry anyway and it is a form of intermittent fasting so really suits me.

I've persuaded DH to go see Fishermans Friends tonight. I have just done my calculations and as I skipped the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and jogged home with DGD after half an hours dancing I figure I can treat myself to a Honeycomb Magnum. We shall also walk there and back and I've already done over 20,000 steps today. Am really looking forwards to it.

Enjoy the film Rose Wood and the magnum :D

Quiet day for me today, housework and some batch cooking for the next few lunches. I've a pile of paperwork I'm putting off sorting

    No breakfast today
L - small portion of macaroni cheese using some LO cheese sauce
D - roasted chicken leg with Boulangere potato and celeriac, roasted fennel and chicory, runner beans, tender stem broccoli and stir fry kale. I went through my veg containers today to see what needed using up and there LO veg for the next few days.
    S - orange and pear

I'm just talking myself out of something sweet to eat, I'm far from hungry so will sit tight and hope the urge will pass

I'm so chuffed about something weight related today. I was in the supermarket and I dropped my shopping list. Normally I dread dropping things because I find squatting down makes my knees feel like they will split and my tummy gets in the way. Today I managed to swiftly bend over and retrieve it in one movement- no holding something to help me up again :j

I know it's not much but I'm so happy!
  • Checking in to report a 0.5 KG loss! :)

Happy to see how everyone is trying their best to stay on track! It's the least we can do.

dandy-candy congrats! You must have felt so proud afterwards and it's definitely something to be happy about

K9zz - as others have said, I think it comes down to mindset more than anything. I have no idea why I've managed to stick to diets some times and not others as I never start with the intention, or even expectation, of failing but I've been unsuccessful way more often than I've achieved any kind of significant loss. The only times I have managed have been with a WW/calorie controlled style of dieting and I've still eaten cake, had booze etc., I just have to find the right balance between that and making healthy choices.

Dandy, it may not seem like much to you but it's great when things happen and make you realise that it's working and making life easier.

I'm very pleased today to be able to report a -4lb loss. I'm not sure if it's just that I've eaten pretty well this week or if the C25K shuffles have helped but I'll keep on keeping on and hope that it carries on moving in the right direction.
