If I was a friend of mine I would tell me to pull my socks up and get on with it but I’m being extraordinarily pathetic right now and keep inexplicably bursting into tears and snapping at everything and one around me. Just got to get myself together and get on with life but it’s hard!
K9zz I'm sure a friend would tell you to cut yourself some slack, moving is extremely stressful especially if you're relocating and you're not well. Boxes can wait to be unpacked, they're not going anywhere and if you have an extra bedroom shut them in there and take one at a time, I agree with MrsLottie break the task into small chunks so it doesn't look so daunting
MrsLottie move away from the chocolate, I just wish I could practice what I preached as I found a crunchie in the cupboard, at least it is now gone
I managed to get my walk in lunchtime by having a early lunch and missing the 1pm downpour, I worked 8-4 today so an early lunch wasn't so bad
B - usual porridge and fruit
L - last of my HM chicken soup
D - aubergine stuffed Arancini balls I picked up YS in W*itrose, I won't buy again as they were too garlicky, I ate them with some stir fry green veg
S - crunchie bar, figs and apple
I made some mini crustless vegetable quiches based on a SW recipe which I will take to work for lunch tomorrow with salad as a change from soupLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Been missing a bit this week. Combination of being busy and recovering from my cold. I haven't fallen off the diet wagon (much) though and am hoping for a good loss tomorrow although we went out for a meal tonight after the theatre matinee show and I have had 3 glasses of wine which is a lot more than I usually drink especially in one day  My friend also bought me a jam doughnut with my coffee when I met up with her yesterday.
Commiserations to those struggling this week or those who have gained and congratulations to the ones who have lost pounds. I am keeping up with my app and logging calories and finding it very interesting how much sugar is in certain things. Low fat yogurts and bananas I would have thought were healthy but they contain loads of sugar. I have switched to small bananas and alternating low fat yogurts with natural greek yogurt.
I have a weekend away this weekend so lots of eating out again. I just find it really difficult to keep on track with so much going on I am almost craving a normal week with no social activities.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Good morning everyone :hello:
I'm up again in loads of pain with my legs so I can't get comfortable. I wish I could get some help with this but because I can't leave the house there is no point talking to a doctor as I can't go and get any tests needed. It's very frustrating.
Diet is not going well either. I don't know what is wrong with me, the kids say I am not my usual self and I have to agree. I have spent too many days grizzling and then I swing the opposite way and I am as bouncy as Tigger if Tigger had no mobility. I am taking all my meds so I don't know why they have stopped working.
I will weigh in later and draw a line and try again. I bought in all the food to give SW a proper go and I haven't had the motivation to cook it. I am very mad with myself as losing weight is something that I really want and will benefit me hugely but I just keep sabotaging myself. I will try the list thing that Cranky mentioned and see if it helps, after all I do love me a list.0 -
Dumpling long term pain and poor sleep is bound to affect your mood, can u get a taxi to a&e and tell them that your legs are keeping u up and not getting better? It's been going on a long time now, you should have some tests.0

Dumpling i am so sorry you are having a rough time, but it sounds like you are being very tough on yourself. Give your self a break, one day at a time. Is the dr not able to do a home visit, maybe there are some tests they can do at your home to help get to the bottom of the leg pains? Sending lots of hugs x'You have brains in your head. Hi there, just popping on to say there has been a miracle and I have managed to STS this week. Don't know how as my diet has been less than ideal. Anyway, line drawn and time to have another go.
Thanks for the comments about my painful legs. Unfortunately I am in the grips of severe agrophobia and cannot leave the house. not even to go into my garden so I cannot get a taxi to hospital. I also have a real mental block on calling my (lovely) GP as I feel I am just wasting his time. I don't know what I am going to do really, I keep hoping they will get better on their own but they just keep getting worse.
I am just going to spend the day resting and see if that helps. Hope you all have a great day xx0 -
Sorry about your leg pain Dumpling and I agree with SIRENS that maybe calling the doctor out on a home visit is something he or she could do? I know doctors are stretched these days but it sounds like you are in a lot of pain and maybe should be checked out? Or is the pain something you have been living with for a long time? Whichever I hope you feel better soon as it is bound to affect your motivation to diet.
CRANKY Can I report a -3 lb loss today please. Thrilled with this as I have had lots going on but have still tried to keep to calorie counting. Gives me some confidence I can manage this weekend away, in spite of the forecasted gales, without gaining much. Good morning all,
I've had a busy few days. I also managed a gain of 2 lbs this week thanks to the emotional eating after my little mate's funeral. I'm still a bit sad but the line was drawn after I weighed myself on Wednesday and the running definitely helps my mood so fingers crossed for a loss next week.
dumpling look up vitamin D deficiency and see what you think. I know you don't get out and I'm fairly sure that you don't get enough through diet. After that ring the doctor. They can get just about anyone to come to you these days. My nana had an ECG done by a heart specialist at home and that was 37 years ago! If you rest then try and make sure your feet are up high, sitting in a chair with your legs on the floor doesn't work.
I'll be back to update the lists after I've been running.
Take care all of you0 -
I have been turning out my bedside drawer and pulled out my stack of diaries. I buy the one-week-to-2-pages ones to jot down my weight weekly and any diets I try.
Shock 1: Last June DH took some photos of me knitting on a steam train journey that I wanted to post to my Facebook knitting group. When he passed my iPad back to me I was dumbfounded. I had no idea that I looked that HUGE. I was mortified. Looking in my diary at last June's weight, I'm actually a stone heavier now whereas in my head I thought I was lighter.
Shock 2: all the other times I had tried to diet by eating what I thought was healthy, have actually been carb heavy e.g. Bran flakes, houmous, wholemeal bread, brown rice etc. No wonder I never had significant losses.
I can't recommend highly enough using one of those apps to enter your foods. I nearly didn't bother this time around because I thought it would be a major faff, but it actually isn't that bad. I also now keep the digital scales out on the side an it literally takes seconds to weigh something before I chuck it in the pan while cooking. It's amazing how out my visual guesstimates are so the scales are very helpful0 -
