Weight Loss the Old Style Way Part 11

Evening Everyone
Glad you liked the idea of my weekly targets Mrs Lottie. I find they help immensely. I also like the idea of an 'if ...then'. For example, if one I go over my 50g carbohydrate target then I will make sure my daily average over the week is still under 50g per day. That way I don't derail myself completely.
It's been really windy here today so my tennis this afternoon was cancelled. I did go out for a run/walk with my friend this morning though. She's a bit of a dizzy blonde so we ended up doing twice as much as we were supposed to. She is using a Couch to 5K app but can't see it properly on her phone without her reading glasses. So she accidentally set it to Week One again rather than starting Week Two. Once we'd finished it she thought we might as well do a bit more but then put Week Two on instead of repeating a Week One. So we did both a Week One and a Week Two today. We were out an hour and did at least 8 one minute runs and several 90 second runs - at least six I think!!
I've not done much else on the activity side though today so it's probably a good job. I have designed a Save the Date card for my daughter and done a bit of crocheting though.
Lunch: Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, avocado, lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes.
Dinner: Baked aubergine topped with onions, chillies, mushrooms and cheese and the last spoonful of yesterday's mixed vegetables
Treats: One small bar of dark chocolate. One dark chocolate ginger biscuit.
I'm not sure what I am going to do tonight but still need to do 1,500 steps at some point. Maybe I'll go for a quick walk around the block to walk off dinner.

Managed a 1 lb loss despite a spot of binge eating yesterday. Sorry to read some of you are in the same boat. The binge eating book's arrived but just far too much to do to get around to reading it.

I like some of the lists ideas I definitely need them. I'm a bit all over the place at the moment both mentally and organisational, I'm blaming it on being a women of a certain age and lack of sleep doesn't help
Weather permitting I'm going to make sure I get out of the office for a walk every lunchtime and if it's wet I'm going to ensure I eat away from my desk. I need to restart menu planning for the week and go back to at least two veggie days and two fish days a week as I lose more weight and feel healthier for doing so. I must remember that wheat and I don't get on and the reason my joints are aching probably relates to that.
I read a quote today which I liked and think it applies :
'You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending'Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Thank you for your lovely welcome Mrs Lottie, it means a lot! I can’t get my head round why I’m taking this house move so badly, it’s really affected me and I can feel myself spiralling into depression! My fibro has flared badly and taking the dogs for just a short walk yesterday has left me in immense amounts of pain today! Still got to carry on unpacking though and there is too much stuff to fit in despite moving from a one bed to a two bed house! I’m finding I’m thinking about sweet foods a lot at the moment which is strange as I’m much more of a savoury person in general. If I was a friend of mine I would tell me to pull my socks up and get on with it but I’m being extraordinarily pathetic right now and keep inexplicably bursting into tears and snapping at everything and one around me. Just got to get myself together and get on with life but it’s hard!
Anyway, eating today will be roughly,
L. Either porridge or soup
D. Probably a pasta dish as I have plenty of that in, can’t think clearly right now as brain is not playing ball!
Hello Cranky, thanks for the welcome. Good luck to everyone else, hopefully I’ll come to know you all over time. x
QUOTE=MrsLottie;75578116]Welcome K9zz , good to have another on board, especially good for you if you are feeling lonely and in need of support re losing weight . I think we all find it hard to get and then keep the weight off but we seem to keep each other going one way or another.
I know I’m really struggling but am determined not to give in so I’m pleased to hear that we carry on with a new challenge after the end of March .
Rose Wood I love your weekly targets and I’m going to give them a try next week - thank you .
Taken the dogs to the park and cold and blustery it was too! Off swimming soon after I’ve finished mopping and cleaning the kitchen . Another dog walk this afternoon and then my granddaughters for tea and a catch up with my daughter.
That should keep me busy and out out of the biscuit tin !
If you’re going out and battling with wind enjoy the feeling of using extra calories up while you try to stay upright .[/QUOTE]0 -

It's not pathetic, moving house is incredibly stressful and so is being in pain so putting the two together is bound to leave you feeling down. Try to be kind to yourself and don't push yourself too hard to get everything unpacked and put away immediately.
We moved house 6 months ago and, despite having a lot more space than we were used to, still have things in boxes in cupboards/the shed because we have no clue where to put them0 -

Valentine’s Day marked our third year in this house and I still haven’t put any pictures up. They are stacked leaning against a wall in the dining room. I can’t decide which to put where, might just hide them in the garage...0 -

Hi Everyone,
It's DH's birthday today but he wanted no fuss and burger and chips for tea!! So that's what he has had. I had a game of tennis this morning but it was really far too windy. I then had a 3 mile walk followed by lunch - DS came too which was nice. This afternoon I did another Couch to 5K run with my friend. We actually did a Week Two properly this time - so it was six 90 second runs interspersed with walks. Since then I've been trying to find a wedding venue for DD so I can send her some ideas.
Lunch: Smoked salmon with cream cheese, avocado and mixed salad.
Dinner: Egg and homemade chips with mushrooms (I don't like burgers that much!)
Treats: Small bar of dark chocolate. Maybe a piece of DH's birthday Toblerone if I get offered one.

Oh dear , I really want to eat something chocolatey ,I’ve just gobbled two chocolate toffee sweets and have come upstairs before I eat more ! I’ve had a perfectly good dinner so I don’t NEED anything else .But I so want chocolate - there I’ve said it and I hope that banishes the desire - I think I can feel it working !
Keep going K9zz I agree with Izadora moving house is exhausting and if moving away from family and friends is a very emotional time .Cut yourself a bit of slack and take a bit of time to make something nice to eat that isn’t too sinful and give yourself some relax time todo whatever you like doing - not what is next on the list to unpack .Do things in bite size chunks and remember you can let off steam on here - you will get through this and be in a happier place - good luck .0 -

MrsLottie I usually eat 2 chocolate bars a day (ie. flake and twix) and 4 choc chip cookies with a glass of milk, and most nights an ice cream too. I’ve been sugar free since Saturday (I’m doing Keto) and after 4 days of headache and craving I’m not really missing it anymore, and I’m also not snacking between meals either. It’s bizarre but I’m praying it lasts.0
