Hello everyone, I see you are nearing the end of your quarterly weigh in totals but I’d like to join you all for mutual support-I need a lot I’m afraid!!! Lol. I’m an emotional eater and I’m a very emotional person!
Currently in the process of moving house, well, we’ve moved but are still unpacking and still can’t find lots of essential stuff. I didn’t want to move but we had to for husbands job, I weighed myself this morning and I’ve gone up to 14 stone!!! Stress eating. Left my best friend behind and I’m feeling extraordinarily lonely, unusual for me as I’m happy with my own company. Money is very tight so I’ll be calorie counting using budget recipes. Hoping I can support people here and they can reciprocate.
    Luv K9zz
  • So what happens after March? Do we all just go out separate ways?
I’ve really enjoyed being on this group and it’s helped to (mostly) keep me on track.

The week ending 31st of March is the last week because we started late, so 2 more weeks after this one.

We just reset the clock and start again. Don’t worry :)

    Evening everyone

Re setting goals. I try to write goals for each week in my diary and choose easy short term and measurable ones. For example, this week my health goals are:
    1. Stick to 50g or fewer of carbohydrates each day
    2. Eat 5 plus vegetables each day
    3. Keep to my daily step target
    4. Post on here daily.

If I do stray on a goal one day I try to make it so the weekly average is still the same.

I had Pilates this morning and for a change went shopping this afternoon with DH. We went to our nearest city which is a 40 minute drive away. I bought some pictures for our hall, which DH has very kindly put up and did the supermarket stock up.

    Lunch: Ham omelette with coleslaw.
Dinner: Frying steak with mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, beans and sweetcorn).
Treats: Small bar of dark chocolate. Feta cheese

I've not quite achieved my step target yet so need to do another 1,000 steps before bedtime. First I'm going to go and watch the Sewing Bee and do some crocheting.

    Enjoy your evening.

    Rose

PS Cranky - don't think you saw that I've lost the 2lb that I'd put on earlier.

Sorry Rose Wood, I've fixed that too.

    Hello and welcome K9zz

fit and freaky dandy-candy is right. We just start a new 13 week challenge. It just makes it easier to keep track of things dividing the year up into four.

Well, I managed run 1 of C25K and I'm still here to tell the tale!! :D

It wasn't actually as bad as I'd feared it might be but, strangely, I think it hurt my lungs more than my legs. I was really wheezy and coughing quite a lot when I got home but it seems to have eased off a bit today.

I worked out a route which I reckoned would take me about half an hour and ended up tacking about a minute or two onto the slow down walk to make it home. I think it'll be a while until I speed up significantly enough to notice much difference in how far I'm making it in half an hour but it'll hopefully be a good way to gauge any improvement.

Cranky, I hope all goes well with your run now that your leg's better.

Welcome K9zz , good to have another on board, especially good for you if you are feeling lonely and in need of support re losing weight . I think we all find it hard to get and then keep the weight off but we seem to keep each other going one way or another.
I know I’m really struggling but am determined not to give in so I’m pleased to hear that we carry on with a new challenge after the end of March .
Rose Wood I love your weekly targets and I’m going to give them a try next week - thank you .
Taken the dogs to the park and cold and blustery it was too! Off swimming soon after I’ve finished mopping and cleaning the kitchen . Another dog walk this afternoon and then my granddaughters for tea and a catch up with my daughter.
That should keep me busy and out out of the biscuit tin !
If you’re going out and battling with wind enjoy the feeling of using extra calories up while you try to stay upright .

Today I discovered the McD website has a page where you can click on the foods to make your usual meal and it will tell you what the calories, fat and sugar are. It was actually much more shocking that I had expected. So often in the past DH and I will pop into a drive through when we're on our way back from the garden centre or ikea etc. I think the biggest shock was the sugar. DH usual meal which includes a milkshake and mcflurry totalled 120g of sugar - that's 30 teaspoons!!
As much as filling in the diet app is a pain, I can really see how important it is now.
