    Evening Everyone,

Hope you've all had a pleasant Sunday. I had my tennis cancelled this morning due to rain so DGD was able to have a leisurely get up and play before I took her home. As is usual for me on a Sunday, my mother came to lunch and DS, DDiL and DGD came for the evening meal. Between times I managed a run/walk with my friend and another play and jog home with DGD. I should have done about 20,000 steps by bedtime.

Lunch: A ham, cheese, egg and cream bake served with shredded Romaine hearts, cucumber, tomato and coleslaw
Dinner: Minced beef and onions with mushrooms, peas, swede, spinach and carrots.
Treats: One finger from a Cadbury's Twirl bar.

I'm another one taking the scenic route, I lost two stone between July and Christmas but having fallen off the wagon at Christmas and NY I've had problems getting my head back in the correct space. I managed to lose my Christmas weight gain but have been faffing since  I was cheered up this morning when I tried on a cardigan I was given in the NY but only 'fit where it touched' and it fits really well, in fact my sister whose cast off it was commented that it was roomy :) so the inches seem to be going just not the lbs.

I don't count calories but follow the SW diet I used 7 years ago when I lost four stone.

Today's walk was called off due to the weather so just some tidying today and a catch up gossip with my sister.

L - two boiled eggs mashed with salad cream served with sliced tomatoes on crisp breads
D - Gong Bao Chicken with rice. Stewed apple, plums and blackberries, I resisted the urge to add a crumble topping but did add custard
S - 2 finger kit kat and packet of crisps

DH and I are on day 2 of our low carb/no sugar diet. Not suffering yet I just hope we can stick to it. We’ve said we will do it for 30 days because it feels more doable to say no bread, choc etc for 30 days rather than forever! We also will hopefully avoid cheating too because there is an end date in sight (well written on the calendar) and we’ve said that if we want to indulge on the 31st day then that’s fine - no guilt. I’m interested in seeing if it makes a big difference, we’ve taken our weights and measurements, and even photos in our pants

I’ve given him strict instructions to be strong with me if I start whining for ice cream or mc Donald’s. I CAN live without that stuff for 30 days.

Need to get my head into gear. I went to a vegan fair on Saturday at Alexandra Palace. Free samples everywhere and delicious food at every corner. Damage done! Sunday, didn't do very well either or manage much exercise. I had some sewing jobs and decided to crack on with them as I need to get them finished and get paid. That meant a lot of sitting around and whilst I was up and down measuring and cutting and pinning etc, I didn't really achieve any steps to speak of. I just can't seem to get it together. My phone has broken which means I'm struggling to use an old one and I'm not using the diet app. My calorie counting has fallen by the wayside. Aghhhhh.

I'm so impressed with you all staying on track and losing weight on a regular basis. Not so impressed that I keep giving up!

I'm off downstairs to do some yoga and meditation right now and will swim in the middle of the day instead of early. I don't think my car will start until the day has warmed up a bit. Yet another problem that requires money. I'm not working at the moment. I left my job over a year ago because I couldn't take the stress any longer. I was a teacher for 28 years but the final three were awful. Staff being bullied quite badly, my friends/colleagues being hounded out of jobs on the verge of breakdowns, financial mismanagement, children not being treated with the respect they deserved, school failing, academy takeover, government red tape and more drove me to the brink. It has traumatised me to the point where I'm seriously anxious when it comes to going back to a structured job. I did a Christmas stint in a large department store in Oxford St and that's all I've done since, except cleaning. Sad really. :(

Sorry for spilling all that out so early in the morning. I hope I haven't burdened your Monday morning with my ramblings!

Good luck to everyone today. Keep up the good work.:)

Sorry to pop on with a gain but it's. +2.5 from me this week, I was expecting it but I'm still disappointed, the copious birthday cake and pizzas plus all the munching in between certainly hit their spot.
    So drawing a line (again).

B porridge, splash of milk, pear
L mushroom rice and some keema, apple
    D probably pasta and veg.
    S cereal bar.

Slowdown, it seems to me that you are concentrating on all of the things that you haven't done or can't do. Forgive yourself and move on. It's gone, done whatever. You left your job hoping for peace of mind and it seems that you've exchanged one lot of worries for another slightly lesser group of worries.

What do you teach? If it's sewing can you do private lessons? If it's something else can you do private tutoring? That's flexible enough and with one to one much more doable. Make yourself a list of all the positive things about yourself then have a think about how you can turn them to your advantage.

If you want a go at a diet plan rather than using an app you can have my slimming world book as I've had a parting of the ways with my SW leader over what I have for my breakfast. In my opinion something that can be eaten freely for lunch or dinner can also be eaten for breakfast but she deemed it a "tweak" so my path has taken a different direction. It's the latest plan - pm me your address if you want it. If not then just write your food down. You know the kinds of foods that you can eat plenty of and the stuff that you should be eating with caution.

Make a list of things that you need cash for in order of priority then see if you can figure out a way to earn the cash. If a decent phone will give you peace of mind for contact/apps then place that above the car. If you think you need the car most place that at the top. You can always swap things around in the future.

Your job loss seems to have stolen your peace of mind as well as your career. Don't give it that power. You are an intelligent, educated person. Take your power back and don't let the bullies ruin the rest of your life.

dandy-candy go you and Mr D-C. I try to low carb every meal except breakfast as I need running fuel so brekky is toast, a tiny bit of peanut butter and a banana on running days or fruit, cous cous and yogurt on non-running days (the bit that the SW leader and I fell out over).

Brambling I tried some of my previously too tight clothes on this weekend and they do fit better. I seem to just go down at the sides now instead of the "love handles" sticking out and making anything other than trousers look ridiculous. It's a good feeling isn't it?

SIRENS life happens. Forgive yourself and move on. Dieting is what we do between important occasions so that we can still have birthday cake. I spent about 20 years saying no to cake and alcohol on people's birthdays and I'm still fat. It gradually dawned on me that it's not birthday party food, it's the things that I do in the weeks in between so now I enjoy "occasions" and our days out in the school holidays and try that bit harder (most of the time :D) if I can.

Rose Wood I did about 4 500 steps yesterday. I must have been a sloth in a past life :rotfl:

Take care all of you :)
