  • Pleased to report a 2 lb loss. Have been doing really well not bingeing. I've been keeping myself really busy, which has helped.

    [QUOTE=Izadora;75548679

Despite being completely incapable of running I've downloaded the couch to 5K app and am now just building myself up to starting doing it. It's the kind of thing that I'd normally talk about doing and then not bother but I told my mum that I'd do it as an incentive for her to carry on working hard on her rehab - she had a stroke last month and is having to learn to walk again - so that there's no chance I'll back out this time. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to find time to do it but I'm sure I'll work it out somehow.

I'm also now really craving glace cherries and marzipan... :)[/QUOTE]

I have just taken the plunge and started the c25k myself, I just completed run 2 of week 2 and have struggled a little this week but I'm so glad I decided to give it a go. I have to do it first thing before work, else I know once I get in nothing is making go out again to attempt running so I go around 6ish, added advantage is its still dark, quite and not many people see me huffing around.
As cranky you have to go ar your own pace and I can see that I will probably have to repeat some weeks more than once before I'm ready to move onto the next. You have excellent motivation in that it will help your Mum too, I wish you both lots of luck.

Yesterday I did have cake but no pizza as dd has a terrible cold and didn't think she would enjoy it so we have moved it to the weekend when hopefully her taste buds will return.

B porridge, splash of milk, berries tsp honey
D jacket pot with baked beans and cheese.

Hugs to everyone who needs one xxx

P.s I could go some glac! cherries too but not the marzipan.

I lost 2 stones (14.5 to 12.5) between Jan-Nov 2016, and it has stayed off.

No alcohol, no fried foods, no cakes, no pastries, no fatty foods. Lots of fresh fruit & veg. (No extra exercise - bit of a dodgy back, I'm afraid).

Take it slowly & steadily & it will be sustainable. Unless done under medical supervision, rapid weight-loss (& rapid weight-gain) are never, ever good for you.

Result: you sleep better, feel "lighter" (because you will be) & have more money in your pocket.

Best thing you will ever do health-wise. Only down-side is having to buy some new clothes as the old ones fall off!

Good luck to all. I really mean that.

    Hi Everyone,

Well I've had a result today. Remember I was unhappy with my kitchen colour when I had it redecorated. Well, the paint company have agreed to pay for the cost of redecoration, including paint and decorator. I haven't received it in writing yet but was told on the phone I had a valid case as the tester had been mixed wrong!! So fingers crossed that a cheque arrives soon.

I've had a busy day. DS and I had a business meeting this morning. I was supposed to play tennis this afternoon but it got rained off so once it had cleared a bit I went out for a walk/run with a friend. I had rung her to see if she wanted a walk but she said she had just started a BBC running programme and was going for run 3 of the first week. So I said I'd join her. It was mainly walking with 8 one minute runs in it and we did about 2 miles in all. We still managed a good chat in between the runs.

This morning I painted an engagement card for my daughter and this evening I have been researching possible wedding venues as she hasn't booked anywhere yet.

Brunch: 2 poached eggs on homemade sourdough toast.
Dinner: Lamb steak, peas, mixed peppers, one tiny piece of boiled potato with butter. Raspberries and blueberries with Greek yoghurt
Treats: 6 squares of dark chocolate. Coffee with cream.

I recommend The Diet Doctor website for anyone who is interested in the low carb way of eating. It's totally free and focussed on health rather than weight loss but is absolutely brilliant. I really enjoy what I eat and feel full of energy on it.

    Good evening all,

Rose Wood excellent result with the paint. I am low carbing my evening meal and sometimes lunch as well but I'm keeping it simple as in protein of some sort then add veg or salad.

Izadora as I've said week one of the C25K nearly killed me but the feeling of achievement when I did the 5k run at the end was amazing. I really miss it now when I can't run. I hope your mum continues to improve.

dumpling I'm glad that you're feeling more like your usual self. I had a miserable weekend but I seem to have bounced back now and I'm back to making good food choices so hopefully we've both had our "moment" for this month.

MancJonny, we're aware of the basic weight loss formula but sadly some of us here also have complex mental health conditions, physical problems or other situations that mean that we aren't always in a good enough place to follow the "no junk food" rule. That's why part of the remit of this thread is to discuss the reasons why we may be overeating in a particular week/month and what we can do to overcome it with the support of other posters here.

Right so....I've STS this week. No big surprise after the weekend. Luckily my return to propping up my emotional state with food was short lived thanks to the support of two amazing friends, one who is trying to lose weight and the other (my closest friend) who is trying to focus on healthy eating patterns with possible weight loss being a result further down the line. I have 4.5 lbs to lose and then I will be 13 stone something for the first time in a very long time so I need to focus on that for the forseeable future.

I went to sainsburys today to try and track down a strawberry flavoured dairy free easter egg and fancied salad for tea while I was there so I bought some lettuce and goats cheese. I had the rest of the stuff in already so my evening meal was chicken breast with a nando's rub and salad. Very tasty it was too.

Take care all of you :)

-1lb please Cranky, I'm disappointed as my interim weight in Monday showed -2.5 so I'm not sure what my body is doing today, but i have issues with wheat so maybe it was the pasta and bread yesterday although I only had a little of each. I'm happy it's a lost but..... I did detour home from my sister via the chippy but in the end made myself drive pass as I would only have felt worst afterwards and probably with indigestion

Work has been really busy and I worked through lunch today which isn't something I usually do so must avoid that tomorrow which won't be easy

    B - porridge and fruit
L - HM chicken noodle soup
D - fish finger sandwich - which is better than fish and chips
    S - fruit salad

Good luck for the rest of the week :)

I tracked my calories last week and lost 4lbs ,1 was feeling upbeat after my holiday .Still tracking calories this week and comparing with this week .Its reading as a couple of hundred calories up everyday this week despite me trying very hard to keep on track .The difference this week is that the weather is gloomy , our grown up children have needed little favours doing ( we don’t mind this ) ,grandchildren (not all) have needed a bit of bolstering over exam revision and boyfriend trouble and my phone broke and I’ve had the hassle of looking for a good replacement. All of these things are part of life’s rich tapestry and we are glad to be able to help out , to listen and offer advice and generally be there .BUT why does it result in me eating more than I need. Think I’ve just given myself the answer !
So leek and potato soup for lunch then and an apple and give myself a good talking to.

I have lost a little bit this week and just writing this has made me resolve to keep at it .Will report in on Saturday .Keep plodding everybody Spring weather will be with us - soon !
