Evening!
So happy! After epic failure last week I have balanced out at -1lb
Thats 8lb on this plan, but it puts me at -1 stone this year!0 -
Hi all,
Well done to all of you who had gains but have jumped right back on the horse! I know how hard it is to carry on sometimes; an unexpected gain can ruin me for weeks.
Anyway, I forgot to check in yesterday, can I post a - 1lb please. Down to 14 st 9 lb and 9lb off since the start of challenge!
Keep on keeping on everyone and remember to be kind to yourselves.

Slowdown are you eating enough for the amount of calories that you're burning. I sometimes crave one of the HT's bread wraps after I've been running but I talk myself out of it by saying that I can have one on weigh day if I've lost weight. I never want one by then.
[/QUOTE]
I think you may be on to something Cranky40.
My calorie allowance was at 1350. But I was doing a lot of exercise. This was the recommended amount on myfitnesspal. But I was struggling. Anyway, my iPad will no longer support this app so I switched to fat secret app. Once I put in my details it told me to eat 1800 and I would still lose weight. So I'm going to eat a bit more but keep up the exercise. I hadn't lost anything when I weighed in on Friday but have lost 1.5lb this morning.
I had a blow out with alcohol and pizza on Friday night but am now back on track. I didn't drink last night and don't intend to until next weekend.
Well done to
Mrs Lottie for losing that 3lb again!
Cranky40 for all the painting
Dumpling for a 2lb loss despite the swollen legs
Fit and freaky for climbing back on the wagon. Not easy.
And to everyone else doing battle with the bulge. Just keep on going. :T0 -
Good morning all,
Slowdown that sounds much more like what you should be eating with so much exercise.
MrsLottie, I'm impressed. That's your holiday gain gone and then some!
dumpling well done on a loss but you need to be taking your medication. I know someone else on water tablets and they take them but then stay upstairs by the bathroom for a couple of hours and it's generally safe for them to wander elsewhere about lunch time.
I haven't had the best week.....I've pulled a muscle in my calf which means no running for a while. I may go for a walk tomorrow if the rain stops and see how I get on but to be honest even walking hurts. Also, any kind of stress sets me off....the HT has had a haircut that he hated (we're on day three now and his friends like it so he's ok with it but oh dear the moodiness Friday/Saturday morning), my pulled muscle hurts (petty this one but it's stopped me walking so.....) and my best friend who we usually stay with overnight has invited us to stay for 2 nights and that's a whole new ball game. I now have all sorts of things for our stay and a whole range of "what ifs" running through my head. I should probably point out here that the whole of the going away scenario is unnecessary as he's my best mate, a very kind and gentle person and knows me inside out. It'll calm down this week, it was just unexpected and it threw me, sigh.
Given all of the above and the lack of concentration on food for weight loss, I am expecting to stay the same this week, but we'll see.
Take care all of you and well done losers :rotfl:0 -

Good morning and happy Sunday everyone
I just came home from my swim and find the time to sit down and update in here. I've had a hectic week, felt like I was running from place to place... Keepin track of food went out of the window mid-week but I still think I did ok. Could have done much better too, but at least sticked to healthy foods on the days I wasn't eating out. And I have a loss of 800 gramms, which makes me more than happy.
The list this week certainly looks good, well done on everyone who lost weight!
MrsLotti, I think we all need to find the programm that works best for us and what helps one person might not help another. For example I prefere W€ight W@tchers over calorie counting as I know it would stress me out when I had to count fruit and veg soon. I would quickly figure out what I could eat for the calories of an apple and then eat that instead of the fruit...
Slowdown, it is so hard sticking to the plan when you 're not well, isn't it?
fit and freaky, it will go upwards (or rather down on the scale`!) again! and sweets at work are a pain, we have crips left over from an event this week and it was soo hard staying focused when everyone else was constantly eating crips and salted peanuts... Especially since I have one - male - coworker who behaves as if he was pregnant, eating loads but not gaining anything....
Cranky, sorry to hear your week was a mess, it can only get better! And the HT will hopefully calm down eventually...
This week should be much more quiet and organised, so much easier to stick to plan.
Yesterday:
B porridge with apple
L wrap with fake chicken salad (chickpeas with soft cheese and spices) and vegetables
D gnocchi with vegetables, mushroom and cheese
S wrap with a pear and some almond butter, ice cream
E 1 hour swim
TOday
B porridge with apple
L wrap with chickpea, mustard and vegetables, spinach with some soft cheese
D oven baked potatos, broccoli and red pepper, cottage cheese
S ice
E 1 hour swim, might also go for a walk.
so, need to hurry, will go over to my granny to play some Ludo. which counts as excercise as granny can't dice like any normal person and sometimes plays bowling with the tokens by accident... So it involves a lot of crawling-around-under-the-table locating missing dices or token.... Granny also has a rather creative playing tactics, which others might call cheating.... :-)

Hi all,
Another week and I stayed the same. Wee bit disappointed but I feel better in my clothes so hopefully the weight loss will show up next week.:)0 -
I agree with you RicardaRac if we can find what suits us and works we should go with that .Enjoy your games with granny !
Cranky sorry about your pulled muscle ,hope you manage a walk without too much pain . I also get affected by my children being upset especially if it’s something we cannot do anything about .Glad HT is cheered up now .Enjoy your two day stay , as you say your best friend is kind and considerate and knows you well - so no worries really .
Slowdown ,it’s hard when our instinct tells us less calories ,less weight when in fact we need to balance the calories with the amount of excercise. If we don’t our bodies seem to go into emergency mode and hang on to the calories in case they are needed .
Dumpling keep going again this week you and I are getting there by sticking at it .
Good luck everyone this week .

Happy Sunday everyone. After my weight not moving by weigh in day I have lost another lb :j:j so hopefully by Friday I will have a good result. Feel like I am back on target after last weekend. My clothes feel looser so that is encouraging.

Hi Everyone,
Well, I've now got a real incentive to lose weight as my daughter announced her engagement today. The wedding is planned for September, though no definite date yet.
I have had DGD quite a bit this weekend so plenty of exercise. Tonight for her half hour of play she was allowed to stay for after Sunday dinner we were trying to move round the sitting room without touching the floor and just the aid of 2 cushions to get from settee to settee. So lots of jumping and stretching. We then jogged back to her house. I also played tennis this morning for an hour and a half so have achieved my step total despite it raining all afternoon.
Lunch: 2 poached eggs on a small piece of (hm) sourdough toast
Dinner: Roast chicken, peas and swede. I passed on the roast and mashed potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings despite having cooked them!
Treats: 4 squares of dark chocolate. Coffee with cream
I weighed myself on Friday and have to admit to having put on 3lb - oh dear. Still, onwards and downwards. As well as the wedding in September, I have my sisters 60th to go to. I hated the photos from her 50th, and they were a big incentive to lose weight then. I am still 3 stone lighter than I was then so at least I have kept most of the weight off. In fact, DH had a motion sensor wildlife camera outside on Friday testing it and it caught me walking past. I looked better than I thought I did, which is heartening.
Thanks for the suggestion about the centre of my flowers, Cranky. I am trying not to buy any new craft items though, so might have to think of something else.
