    Good afternoon all,

I've been decorating. Everyone has their own mountains to climb and I have conquered one of mine this week. I was going to paint the hall stairs and landing in September 2017 but I fell down the stairs instead and hurt my leg. It's been left ever since...but the sun came out on Monday and the walls looked really grubby. I decided that this week was as good a time as any to get on with it so on Tuesday I took everything out of the hall, cleaned everywhere and painted it.

Today was the bit that was scaring me - the stairs. I've been wary of stairs ever since the accident, but I did it and now I have lovely clean painted walls. It did hurt a little as my bad leg was against the stairs when I did one side but I managed. I'm very pleased with myself - can you tell? :rotfl: You can't eat while you're painting either.

I've lost 1 lb this week which was surprising given how much junk I ate last week during half term. Either my body is getting more efficient at processing rubbish or it's going to bite me on the bum next week. We'll see....

fit and freaky well done for resisting the cake even if it was nasty.

Slowdown are you eating enough for the amount of calories that you're burning. I sometimes crave one of the HT's bread wraps after I've been running but I talk myself out of it by saying that I can have one on weigh day if I've lost weight. I never want one by then.

Take care all of you :)

  • Well done on getting your painting done, Cranky. It should lift the spirits every time you look at it.

I played tennis again this morning. Not as warm as yesterday so no short sleeves today. I had DGD overnight so took her to school first. I didn't sleep well last night - I think it was because I had a normal coffee yesterday afternoon rather than decaff which I usually drink. So after lunch today I retired to bed with a book and had a short sleep to revive my poor tired brain. Once I was up I went to the library to collect a book and then felt much more awake so did an hours walk. I'm not sure what I shall do this evening. I might make a few birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. I usually have a different theme each year. Last year everyone got cross stitch cards but this year I am using the homemade paper DGD and I made to make 3D flowers to mount on a blank card. I have been using pretty buttons for the centre but might run out soon so shall have to think of something else.

Lunch:Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado. Shared an apple with DS
Dinner: Chicken breast cooked in the air fryer with sprouts and broccoli in cheese sauce. Grapes
Treats: 3/4 of a small bar of chocolate.

I shall weigh in tomorrow but am hoping I've lost the pounds I put on since Valentines Day.

Rose Wood you could make flower centres out of Fimo modelling clay.....I seem to think there's a cheaper alternative to Fimo as well but I can't remember what it's called.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I am happy to report a 2lb loss this week although I am very swollen and puffy so it could be even more once I get rid of this excess water. I have been very naughty and not taken my tablets for a few days and this is the result. I must must must remember to take them regularly.

My lovely eldest daughter brought me 3 big bunches of asparagus yesterday so I will be eating them for the next few days. This morning I am going to roast them with some bacon and a poached egg on top. My tummy is rumbling just thinking about it.

I dithered and dallied with the idea of joining Slimming World online last night but the fee was £65 for 3 months online access which seemed like a heck of a lot. I still have nutracheck but I have not been writing my food diaries in, just pure laziness I think so I will try and start using it again as I did find it helpful. I wish I could go to Slimming World with my daughter as I quite like the group thing but as I haven't left my house since August apart from a night in hospital it is unlikely to say the least.

My food diary looks like this today:
b - asparagus, bacon and egg
l - tuna salad with roasted chickpeas
d - fishcakes, baby potatoes and broccoli
    s - pineapple

Hope you all have a great day and make good choices xx

dumpling I wasn't keen on slimming world online as there aren't any community forums. There's a slimming world thread on the health and beauty section of the MSE forum. I've gone over to the dark side and I'm following weightwatchers. It's changed a lot since I lost weight with it years ago - it's database is better and there's an option to scan barcodes on your phone to find points values. There's a lot of 0 points foods now too. Does nutracheck have chat forums? If it does it might be worth getting yourself on those to up your enthusiasm.

Dumpling I belong to nutracheck and there is a forum although I have not been on there yet. I find the diary a hassle but it does make me think twice about snacking as I don't want to record it so I think it is worth persisting with it.

Cranky well done on the painting. Newly decorated walls smell and look so lovely.

After my long weekend away last weekend which was lovely I am reporting that sadly I STS. I am not surprised but a tad disappointed but have really had only three days to recover from what are not horrendous choices but certainly the wrong sort of foodto lose weight on. A rack of ribs may have slipped into my mouth ;). Anyway next week is another week and no meals out now until next Saturday so back to normal.

    Have a good week everyone.

Good morning everybody ,I’m really happy to report a 4lb loss this week .I have really stuck to counting calories this week after frightening myself with a 3 lb gain on holiday last week .Just proved to myself that I can do it !
Well done Dumpling , pleased for you that you’ve kept at it too .Lets keep going one week at a time.
I’m not good with any slimming club as I get very nervous coming up to weigh day and then begin to eat with anxiety ! I have lost 4stone before by counting calories and weighing at home , that was a long time ago but well worth trying again and being part of this group is really helping me .
