Good morning everyone :hello:
MancJonny, absolutely no offence taken here and well done on your weight loss and most importantly keeping it off. Your 'rules' are correct but Cranky is right when she says it is complex situations that make losing weight hard. Please keep posting x
I am wide awake with an attack of cramp in my 'good' leg getting me out of bed with a jolt this morning. I will wait until my husband gets up for work before going back to bed so I thought I would post some more 3am musings.
I had a very long chat with my youngest last night as he is desperate to lose some weight. He is on some very strong meds for psychosis which has the unfortunate side effect of making him very hungry all the time. He has got into a bad habit of snacking on junk so has put on quite a lot of weight over the past year. We have decided to make a plan roughly following Slimming Worlds principles and give it a good go for a month to see if it makes a difference. I like the meal plans in the SW magazine as they are comprehensive and have realistic portion sizes. Now I can stand for a bit and cook it should be doable. He is away for the weekend so we will start on Monday.
My diet has been a lot better yesterday apart from some chocolate peanuts which jumped into my mouth when I wasn't looking :rotfl:.
I was also so pleased with myself that I managed to have a shower even though I was terrified of slipping. I felt so clean afterwards and will try and continue to do this without having a panic attack beforehand. The more weight I lose, the easier things like this will be so it is an incentive to shed some flab.
My menu today looks a bit like this:
b - porridge and a banana
l - salad box from the local bakery with boiled eggs and ham
d - not sure yet, I am making BBQ chicken for the family so might have a little bit of that.
s - apple and tangerines
Hope you all have a great day and make fabulous choices, take care xx0 -
Hi,
I'd like to report a 0.5lb loss. Not much but at least it's in the right direction.
I had a bad day yesterday. I had a camera down my throat first thing in the morning at the hospital. Didn't have a sedative as I wanted to get stuff done in the day. It didn't last long and was all clear but it threw me a bit as I have to confess I was nervous. I then ate in a veery silly fashion all day long. I had two cakes, cheese and biscuits, lots of tea and coffee and no food with a vitamin in sight.
So that's probably why my loss is only a half pound this morning. I really want to get back on track but I'm struggling big time. Not good.
I hope you are all having a better time of it and sticking to plans.0 -
Hi all, sorry to have been MIA for a while but I’ve not had any losses and I admit it’s been getting to me!
DS1 came over earlier this week and said one of his flat mates has had great results by cutting carbs and sugar, so I’m going to give that a go and see how I get on.0 -
Good morning. Can I report a -1 lb lossplease? Would rather it had been -2lb to make up for last week but it was not to be. I haven't deviated from the plan but I do have a streaming cold so have been stuffing myself with fruit and haven't done as much exercise as normal. Cancelling my exercise class this morning too
.

I know right! It's ok now, just a little bit throbby where it was. Well I managed to get some more sleep and now I am experimenting in the kitchen. I have made a crustless quiche type thing with asparagus and ratatouille. It smells nice but it is still in the oven so I get to try it later.
After I posted in the early hours I had a rush of blood to the head and joined Slimming World online for 3 months. There was an offer in the magazine to upgrade the membership to Gold for the same price as Silver so I decided to use some of my savings for it. I think it will be a nice change from calorie counting for a bit and my youngest can benefit from it too.0 -

Dandy, best of luck with cutting down on carbs and sugar. I don't have too much of a problem with sugar (occasional biscuit and cake binges aside) but I really struggle to cut down on carbs.
Dumpling, good luck with Slimming World and hopefully it'll will be good for your son too.
My eating's been a bit all over the place for the past couple of days. I'm tired, hormonal and miserable and that seems to translate to not being able to walk past the biscuit tin or crisp cupboard without dipping in. I know that eating sensibly would actually make me feel a lot better than eating rubbish does but I still couldn't stop myself. I'm trying to console myself with the fact that I didn't overeat to the level that I normally would and I should be back to normal in a couple of days.0 -
Dumpling - good luck with Slimming World
. I'm using My Fitness pal but I share a room with 2 SW members and I get so many ideas from them which is helping me.
Today I'm - 1lb. I'm quite pleased as I was struggling for a bit but I had cut my calorie allowance to lose weight faster but that just made me crave food. I've upped my calorie allowance and trying to accept that I'm on the scenic route to weight loss. Good luck all.

Dumpling I follow sw (there is also sw board over on the health and beauty forum https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5972862/slimming-in-to-spring-slimming-world-support-thread-2019) I use to to go to group but now follow from home. I hadn't joined online still, but seem to be pottering along as I am. I find it very easy to follow and not too restrictive there are also some great receipes online at http://pinchofnom.com and http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/.
Wish you lots of luck x

Hi Everyone,
Hope you've all had a good day. I had DGD overnight last night so had the school run this morning, followed by a walk. I also had yoga this morning followed by coffee with friends. This afternoon I went out for a walk with another friend and then did a load of ironing. This evening I had to pop to work for an hour and am now going to have an early night and go to bed with a book.
Lunch: Smoked salmon pate on a small piece of sourdough toast. Ham, cheese and tomatoes
Dinner: Egg, homemade chips and mushrooms. Greek yoghurt with blueberries and raspberries.
Treats: Small bar of dark chocolate. Dark chocolate ginger biscuit. Oat and rasiin cookie.
Too many treats. DH asked me to pick him some treats up from the shop on my way back from work so I did and then stupidly gave into temptation myself. I didn't even enjoy the cookie very much so feel very silly for having it.
