Not feeling great today, I didn't sleep very well so am really tired and my IBS is playing up today (too much beef the weekend and I got beef leftovers for tea tonight!)

    Today:
    B: 2 x Weetabix, blueberries and banana
L: salad and HM pasta Bake (saut!ed some onions and garlic, added mushrooms and peppers, couple balls of frozen spinach, tsp mixed herbs, couple fresh tomato's, can of pasata, salt and pepper, oh and a small bit of chorizo I found floating around the fridge, poured it all over some pasta shapes, grated a bit of cheese on top and cooked in the oven for 30mins) This should do lunches for a couple of days for me and OH
S: Orange, 1 x peanut butter energy ball (90g oats, 2 table spoons honey, 135g nut butter, 2 tsp of seeds, mix together well and roll into approx. 12 balls and leave to set in the fridge)
T: LO hairy bikers casserole, potato's and sprouts
E: 20 min walk at lunch (done) not sure ref exercise DVD as I feel rotten at the moment.

    Have a good day all

    Good afternoon all,

I went running this morning and tried to put a bit more effort into it today to make up for the junk I ate on Saturday. I came home craving fruit so I had yogurt for lunch, with raspberries, blueberries and a squirt of sweet freedom sauce. I'd already had a banana for breakfast with my peanut butter toast (peanut butter spread very thinly).

I'd say it's a bit unnerving to be craving healthy things but I do usually eat much better once the running is underway. I carried on the exercise theme by cleaning the HT's bedroom - a task that could really do with a HazMat suit and a flit gun but he tidied it yesterday so I thought I'd go for it while I could see the floor.

Take care all of you :)

From reading the posts it looks like lots of healthy eating is happening ! Today , for breakfast I had fresh fruit , muesli and yogurt ,lunch was h m soup , 1ryvita and a breakfast bar. Tea tonight will be salmon parcels with potato chunks sprayed in fry lite ,cauliflower cheese and asparagus. I do weigh my food in accordance with NHS guidelines for weight loss using my statistics and have found that this is doable amount of food for slow and steady weight loss ,which is just fine for me . I have had a habit of being very strict with myself and then not being able to keep it up and getting frustrated with myself , so think I may have found the key to success - I hope so ! Whenever I feel a slight waver I just pop on here and read a few posts to jog me along - so thank you everybody .

Well, you all seem to be far more disciplined than I have been this weekend! I've done my usual trick of telling myself that I'm going to be good then said 'self', obviously reached for the biscuits. And chocolate. And pasties. I'm a psychiatrists dream!

Today was loads better, food wise.
    B: nothing
D: apple and a pot of naked sweet chilli noodles
T: pasta (in a cereal bowl) with bolognese and chilli pesto and 15g cambazola.
S: oatie biscuit, something nice but small.

Hope you feel better soon savesummore. Cranky, I daren't even attempt my eldest's room. She's old enough to know where the cleaning stuff is!

Hello and good evening everyone!

I've been a silent reader for way too long so I finally wanted to join in. I've gained a bunch of weight over the last months (due to my iron deficiency) and now have a hard time losing them again. My goal is to lose 8-9 KG - still need to weigh myself tomorrow - by ... idk ... July? Since it's my birthday month and we'll go on vacation then

Ever since I can remember I've been struggling with my sweet tooth AND eating when I'm bored. So instead of eating a bag of chips, I'll try to have an apple. And my goal is to have at least 3 liters of water a day. So far, it's not my fave "activity". :rotfl: Also, self-made stuff is ... barely existent since I'm quite busy during the week so I will end up with take out.

    We'll see. I'm motivated though :T:T

A quick post to report a ** 1lb ** loss, gradually getting back into regular meals and less snacking and increasing the exercise. Another one who likes to walk quite a bit here, averaged 16,000 steps a day last week.
Sorry to hear about your husband Vicky, take care of yourself x

Good morning, hope we are all doing well today. I am just popping on to write my menu down. It is not too exciting that's for sure.

    b - bran flakes and a banana
l - baked potato with bolognese sauce and a tiny bit of cheddar
d - hache steak, wedges and baked beans
s - carrot sticks and pear

Not as much veg as usual and quite potato-ey but I can't be bothered today as I am shattered from staying up most of the night with my youngest.

Good to see how well everyone seems to be doing, lots of exercising going on too which is brilliant. I am trying to stand for longer periods of time to get my muscles working again. I will progress to walking around the house and then ultimately I will do the walking to fitness videos on youtube. This is a long term goal for me but it is literally baby steps at the moment :).

I've been quite busy these last few days so I haven't really been online much at all. The total weight loss for week one looks quite impressive and the numbers of folk joining in seems to be growing week on week

My weight loss is 2.5lb I'm very pleased to say the least.

Lunches over the last week have been mainly soup with an apple or pear to follow.
Dinner has been mainly vegetables with a smallish piece of meat or turkey followed by cheese and an apple or frozen berries and a dash of cream.
I've stayed away from pastry, pasta and rice. Bread is more difficult as I do enjoy a roll with my soup. I never eat potatoes as I seem to be intolerant of them

I'm now at the stage of not feeling hungry all the time and hopefully if I don't slip up and eat chocolate it should stay that way.

I'm now just about to start my run up to my op in February. Thursday:-2 different hospitals one for x-rays the other for an echocardiogram. Next Monday an appt at a third hospital and Tuesday an appt with the anesthetist. I'm trying not to get stressed because that's when I lose control and eat - love pork pies.
