Vague is the right word. I don't understand why they don't tell you the issue since it's my freaking accounts. It's very frustrating. I've lost all my trust in banks.
You'll obviously argue that there isn't anything suspicious but they don't do this sort of thing for the fun of it so there must be something that's rung some alarm bells for them, perhaps the CIFAS response will clarify....0 -

Best of luck getting the money, they really shouldn’t be doing this to you based on what you have said.
I’ve opened the monzo one. Got the card today. Not sure how trustworthy it is. I’ve been reading the reviews on trustpilot. Some of the feedback are worrisome.0 -
Their hands are tied - if there's a suspicion of fraud or money-laundering then under the relevant legislation it's an offence to give out information that could be construed as 'tipping off', so they have to err on the side of caution when explaining what they've done.

I’m waiting for the CIFAS report. My belly is in knots.0 -

In January 2019, there have been 20 searches on my file!! One from Monzo which I had to apply for because of the banking fiasco and the rest of searches come from loans companies. I did apply for a loan with Aspire Money and then they sent me recommendations but I wasn’t aware that so many searches have been performed on my name. Does it affect my credit rating / history? Checkmyfiles.com generated a “no CIFAS registered” on my name. It says confirmed by CC (CallCredit) and EQ (Equifax). Is it accurate you think? Should I breathe a tiny sigh of relief?0 -

No idea about checkmyfiles, but have you checked all CRA reports?
In addition to Clearscore, have you checked Noddle (data from Callcredit) and moneysavingexpert credit club (data from Experian)?
I’ve submitted a subject access report. Is that what you meant by CRA report? I have Cleascore. I will look up Noddle and the second one yo mentioned.0 -

You can access the data they hold for you using 3 websites: noodle, moneysavingexpert credit club, and clearscore. You say you have checked your equifax report via clearscore. You need to check another two. They are free.0 -
If you have a CIFAS marker for fraud then it would not show on any of your credit reports.0

In addition to requesting a SAR, I’ve just now signed up with checkmyfiles.com

I am wondering if any of those searches could have been the result of identity fraud.0 -

You could have something recorded with National Hunter. They check details of previous applications made to detect fraud.
If nothing is is shown on CIFAS then get an access report from them.0
