I didn’t sell anything. I did buy a phone case over amazon. Haven’t received money from anyone. Only wages and benefits. I did a credit application but I didn’t follow through.

I'm no expert in this field but, my understanding was that if you take evidence of any payments in to your account (pay slip, child benefit form(??)) that the bank should allow you to withdraw that money.

Can anyone more knowledgeable please confirm.

I do get payslips. The last tax credits letter is more than 3 months old I think. I need to check. I don’t have any letter from child benefit. The last one was sent in 2016.

You haven’t at all received money for a friend?

Made any new account applications for credit recently?

These checks won’t happen without some reason to trigger it.

    Hope you get it sorted

Not received anything from friend or family. I did a credit application for a loan but I didn’t follow through with it. I’m racking my brain about what could have triggered both accounts to be blocked :(

You not got a family member or neighbour you can rely on ? Even if its just for some food.

A work colleague gave me some money today. Will go to Santander tomorrow to see if I can get my tax credits. I receive tax credits on a weekly basis. I’m also going to the post office to see if I can get a card account to receive my tax credits and child benefit. I don’t know how it works. But I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. My main concern is my wages. I don’t want to miss paying rent.

I don't think the bank can refuse you benefit money so so as they advised and take proof of ID and the benefit payment to the branch. You should be able to withdraw that money.

I’m praying and hoping. Thank you.
  • You said you did a credit application but didn’t follow through....

Was there a reason for not following through?

If you have lied on it (which people do risk doing), even if you cancelled the application they could still look into the facts you gave at application and register a fraud marker.

This hasn’t happened without any reason.

I'm betting its the credit application.

I applied on aspire money - a company recommended by clearscore. Aspire money, referred me to two companies - amigo loans and another company I can’t remember the name of. I didn’t take any offers - that’s what I meant by not following through. I still get texts from them.

The thing is I haven’t given my Santander details while applying for credit. Only Barclays. So why is Santander reviewing my accounts with them as well? :(
  • They could capture details on there monthly updates to CRA’s (assuming they check cifas too).

Maybe your banks both update at the same time of the month.

Again the cifas marker is speculation but it’s the only think that kind of fits.

But doesn’t seem to be much reason behind it from what your saying. Strange.
