Morning!
Leftovers last night morphed into a dinner that
a. persuaded the kids to eat cabbage, :j and
b. was so good Hubs demanded it get written down so it can be repeated!
To be fair, the kids have been much better at eating veg and trying new things over the past few months. Well, NJ has been better and Littlest doesn't like to feel left out so...
In other news - a friend repaid a £5 so I get to play the YNAB shuffle for 30seconds. Its the small things
Hope you are warm and dry wherever you are.

Yay to the successful leftover dinner.
It's not as cold today as it has been, bit snowy but think that will be cleared by the time I leave work.

Quick update
I have cleared the Tesco MC in fullI will update the signature. I had a buffer in my savings which I have used. Now any surveys/savings/virtual SPC cash will go in there and my aim is to get it up to £1,000 minimum this year, on top of the cash tin £700 I save for Xmas. Might put my £1 a week challenge money in here as well as I don't need that AND my 1p a day money to pay for Christmas! I opened a Starling account which has better interest I think (will add checking that to my list). If it does I will use it as a holding account. If all goes well with Starling over the next couple of months I may switch to it as my main personal account...
I have finally spoken to CBank to cancel monthly fee. They are even going to refund the last £25 fee (yes I know...I opened a private banking account when it was offered free with my previous employer and never quite got around to cancelling it when I moved jobs). It means losing my overdraft but that is okay. I wanted it gone and now I will just have to manage. I am likely to dip into it before payday on the 8th so they are going to defer the change until then and from 8 February onward I will be overdraft free!

You've been saved!!! I did a big rambling post and it vanished when I tried to preview!
Thanks everyone for the support. Clearing the CC has given me a massive boost. I know I still have to pay Hubs back but I have saved £100s in interest over the 2 years it could have taken to clear that card.
I had a play yesterday and have set Starling up to use for discretionary spending: food at work (much restricted over the free spend of the past few months), clothes, personal care, social, fun money and treats for the kids/Hubs. I then tagged these categories in YNAB so the balance on the account should always equal the total available in those pots. The Starling app has a section called 'Spaces' that lets you set saving goals so I now have a Xmas 2019 pot and a clothes for the new job pot. You set target amount (but not a date unless I missed something) and it tracks progress. I also set the Xmas pot to 'round up' transactions so every time I pay with Starling it will round up to the next £ and put the difference in my Xmas pot. So this morning I bought a tea and yoghurt for £1.15. The app rounded it up to £2 and put the extra 85p in my Xmas bucket. The money is all in the same account and earns the same interest, but it doesn't show in the 'balance' on the home screen.
Not sure I explained that very well but hopefully you get the idea. I love that I can align the account with what I am doing on YNAB. It also gives me another reason/way to fouter in YNAB and that makes me happyI am such a geek :rotfl:
What else? Oh yes:- Hubs is taking the bagged coins I found to the bank today. I need to bag the rest so he can take them next week.
- Dinner last night was pork from the freezer with peppers and a couple of stray noodle nests.
- The builders have finally admitted they lost the final snagging list we submitted so hopefully we will see movement on getting our house/garden finished off nearly 3 years after moving in  it has only taken 8 months of emails to get to this stage...
- My cough is starting to get gurgly and move gunk so hopefully lungs clear enough to run at the weekend (sorry if TMI
)
Oh dear - managed to ramble on again...
Happy hump day to all the full-timers out there!

Sounds like great progress. I do need to know what the leftovers made though. Sounds like my kind of food. Nigel Slater won me when he said that the crispy bits were the best bit of any dish.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
