It is super shiny. However I won't hold my breath - FlyLady stuck for all of a week I think... It does not come naturally. I think I may be clutter blind! :rotfl:

Not money related rally but I need somewhere to vent.

Background: My Mum is quite good at dishing out back handed insults (for example 'That top is pretty - it will look lovely when you've lost a couple of pounds'). I usually let them slide without comment although I am upset/angry and Hubs is always telling me I should let her know I'm not happy.

So I was just on the phone with her and we got to talking about my new job and she said 'You'll love being Boss B1tch'. This made me angry at the implication I needed to be mean to get the job done and hurt that she'd think I am that kind of person so I told her so, saying if I have to be a b1tch to get the work done I'm doing it wrong. She tutted, snapped 'no need to be so sensitive' and hung up. Now she will be in a strop for days, if not weeks and Dad will be on the phone asking me to apologise because although he knows she is in the wrong it will just be easier for everyone. Sigh. This is why I let it slide. Too much drama!

Sorry - told you it wasn't MSE related :o

I'm on a 2-day TOMM streak! :A Cracked on with the kitchen last night (should have been bedrooms but everyone was in bed - will tackle the bedrooms tonight while they are at rugby). I took a little longer than 30mins but given I cleaned the cutlery drawer, the microwave, the surfaces (after clearing them) and cupboard fronts and now have a shiny sink I am amazed what just 43 minutes of effort achieved!

On a money front I am in the lull between paydays... money going out but nothing coming in. I have managed to 'round-up' £12.94 on Starling which is tagged for Xmas spends. No idea how much is in my sealed jar though. At least £90 but probably a chunk more.

I am still spending too much on food at work, though it is better. I need to rethink meals/batch cooking/soup and get organised on weekends.

Not much else to report. Happy Wednesday
    Luc

  • Hi Luc.

Interesting seeing you talk about TOMM. I tried it last year and it was working, however I swapped my morning tidies for studying in the morning while I geared up my effort for final exams. The house has taken a back seat.

I hadn't realised how much until I had my sister over yesterday morning. Their house is the same age as ours (Georgian) only 3x the size and they have spent a tonne of money completely refurbishing it. I felt so embarrassed. Ours feels like it is falling apart by the day. Nothing is finished, Our kitchen is mid "spruce up" our bathroom is just hideous (think cracked ceiling, bare walls where the last owners ripped tiles off and painted over the lumpy grout, horrid terracotta tile floor that never looks clean, no pipes boxed in- so depressing).
We are still unsure if we are going to do the renovation/extension, or if Mr Star's job is going to take us abroad. I hate this limbo.

Wow sorry for the moan and takeover.
I too am not a natural domestic goddess and I like to think I am fairly laid back but it's just really all getting to me at the moment.

Hi Star, sounds like things are piling up a bit. Do you journal/meditate at all? It might be helpful to try one or both. When I get like that I do free writing and it is amazing what comes out! Take care and don;t be too hard on yourself x
